Whether you’re looking for a romantic retreat, a get-away-from-it-all break or a holiday full of activity and sightseeing, the beautiful hand built oak shepherd’s hut at Manor Farm in rural Oxfordshire is a wonderful little spot, and even comes with its own wood fired hot tub.
Sitting in a quiet location in a pretty meadow, this luxurious shepherd’s hut offers the ultimate glamping experience. The accommodation is second to none – fully insulated and fitted with a log burning stove and an en-suite bathroom – and the setting is idyllic, with fields, walks and Cotswolds scenery on your doorstep. If you want to experience this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty from a cosy yet chic bolthole then Kelmscott is the place for you.
There is lots to see, do, eat and enjoy in this famously lovely region. Within walking distance of the hut you will find the stunning and historic Kelmscott Manor, the River Thames where you can hire a boat or walk along the footpath, and The Plough Inn, a village pub which serves excellent food and local beer. Within a 15 minute drive are the medieval town of Burford, the National Trust-owned Burcot Park, the Great Barn at Coxwell, Cotswold Woollen Weavers and the Cotswold Wildlife Park. And 30 minutes away are Blenheim Palace, Bibury Trout Farm, the city of Oxford, White Horse Hill, the Roman market town of Cirencester and the many attractions of Bourton-on-the-Water. The landscape around here is perfect for walking, cycling, fishing, shooting or horse riding and don’t forget the nearby racecourses and car circuits.
The farm is within easy reach of Burford, Stow, Cheltenham and Oxford and with good connections to the M40, M4 and M5 motorways.

The hut has a fixed double bed, a table and chairs and a kitchenette with cooking rings, a fridge, a microwave and a toaster. There are several electrical points in the hut but there is no TV or music player. Towels, bedding, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, basic condiments and bottled drinking water are included.
Outside you will find another table and chairs, a BBQ for sunny day cooking and a fire pit to keep you warm while you’re star gazing.
On top of the basic food provisions the owners can arrange a local breakfast hamper, a continental breakfast hamper or BBQ meat packs.
Conditions of Rental
Arrive any day of the week between 3.30pm and 7pm. Sorry, no pets. The huts are only suitable for children aged 12 and over. A fuel starter kit is included and more wood is available. Open from March to October.
