One-Off Feature
Set within thirty acres which make up Spring Farm, enjoying breath taking views down the Bryn Awr Valley. This sympathetically restored Victorian railway carriage is simply perfect for relaxing, exploring and stargazing whatever the time of year.
General Info
A beautifully restored Victorian railway carriage hand crafted by the owner from local hillside timber, with a star gazing clear roof above the bed. This authentic railway carriage is set in a secluded orchard with stunning panoramic views down the whole length of the Bryn Awr Valley to the Brecon Beacons. With incredible walks straight from the door, a good local pub close by and the idyllic town of Crickhowell only 5 miles away. The farm overlooks Sugar Loaf mountain, offering easy access for walkers and cyclists from your front door, and further down the Bryn Awr Valley you will see the table top mountain and Pen y Fan on a clear day. Other local activities include horse riding and even gliding. In the nearby market town of Abergavenny, you will find a Norman Castle, farmers markets and the fabulous Food Festival each September. Brecon, Hay on Wye, Cardiff and Hereford are all in easy reach, as well as Wales Industrial Heritage sites in Blaenavon. Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park and within a 'dark skies' area, this beautifully converted Victorian railway carriage offers stargazing straight from your bed. The carriage, which was originally used in the construction of the reservoir at the head of the valley, has a picture window that slides open onto a deck with the most amazing views. The carriage has been restored with the owner's own hard wood, with a bespoke kitchen and wood burner for your home comforts, while its blissfully soft double bed has generous storage space beneath. Furthermore, there is a fabulous wet room, dining table and two comfy armchairs which complete the furnishings. The railway carriage is positioned within 30 acres of the owner's farm and smallholding, offering a welcoming greeting with an array of friendly animals on site. For a lazy afternoon there is a hammock for two set within the orchard. There is ample off road parking and within minutes from the carriage, you can leave your car behind and pick up the footpath to the summit of the Sugar Loaf Mountain.
