One-Off Feature

Estancia del Zorro is a 12,000 acre working sheep and alpaca ranch on the Chilean/Argentinian border and within its midst you will find a traditional farmhouse where you can experience authentic country life and spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

General Info

Whether you’re here for the wildlife, the food or the Gaucho culture, Estancia del Zorro offers a glimpse into a different world. Every day here is different and guests will receive a tailor made programme of activities so you can fully explore the grasslands, meadows, wetlands, river bottoms, canyons and foothills on foot, bike or horseback. Bird lovers will be in heaven, as will anyone who enjoys simple living, unspoilt landscapes and warm hospitality.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The Estancia sits in the region of Aysen on the border between Chile and Argentina. Just 23km away is the regional capital of Coyhaique and the ranch is surrounded by the spectacular Patagonian landscape where you can walk, cycle and horse ride to your heart’s content. The nearby Dos Lagunas lakes are ideal for kayaking, hiking and picnicking, the shallow wetland provides an outstanding habitat for a variety of bird species (including native geese, torrent ducks, kingfishers, ibis, flamingos, black necked swan and a variety of birds of prey) and the Valley of the Moon, home to the endangered Andean Condor, is just a bike ride away.

The best way to get to the ranch is to fly to Santiago and take an onward flight to Balmaceda airport (served by LAN and Sky airlines). From here you will be collected for the two hour drive to the Estancia (alternatively you can hire a car if you prefer).
