This superbly renovated and decorated stone house sits in the pretty wine-growing village of Villeseque-des-Corbieres, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. This beautiful area borders both the Pyrenees and the sparkling Mediterranean and it is an area of exceptional scenery, with landscapes that include a long uninterrupted sandy coastline, mountains, vineyards, Cathar castles, secluded bike paths, rivers and the fairy-tale town of Carcassonne. This is the perfect base from which to explore this stunning region.
Villeseque-des-Corbières is a charming little village close to the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The area offers a diversity of outdoor activities, from hiking and hill walking to horse riding and swimming. You can even go skiing, with the Pyrenees just an hour away. The village of Durban-Corbières, with its medieval churches and winding streets, is just a few minutes away and it has all the daily amenities you’ll need, from a post office to a boulangerie. On the road to Narbonne you will find an impressive African Reserve, and Narbonne itself is full of things to see and do – browse the colourful market, visit the magnificent cathedral, go boating and fishing, or stroll along the unspoilt beaches. Nearby Perpignan offers cinemas, theatres, shops and restaurants and you cannot miss La Cité of Carcassonne, a spectacular and historic walled and moated castle.
Getting There:
There are six airports within a 2 hour drive, the closest of which is Perpignan, around 45 minutes away. The other airports are Carcassonne (50 minutes), Montpellier (1 hour 10 minutes), Toulouse (1 hour 45 minutes), Girona (1 hour 50 minutes) and Nimes (1hour 55 minutes). If travelling by train, the high speed TGV is only 30 minutes away in Narbonne. There is an overnight car train from Calais to Narbonne (raileurope.com) that runs through the summer, and a car train that runs from Paris to Narbonne throughout the year.

The house has a master bedroom with a fireplace, a loft bed and an additional day bed. The modern kitchen opens entirely to the terrace for inside/outside dining

Conditions of Rental
Security Deposit of $200 USD, or 200 euros, or 200 pounds to be held in case of damages or excessive cleaning, not deposited, returned after rental. Payment would be made in Euros, paid at your convenience after your arrival, directly to Credit Agricole. Maintenance/Cleaning fee of 55 euros to be left in an envelope at the house for cleaner.
