This stunning Grade 2 listed Round House is set in the village of Veryan on Cornwall’s dramatic Roseland Peninsula, one of four round thatched houses built in 1820. It’s dog friendly, walking distance to coast path, beaches, pubs and cafes, and simply oozes romance.
Featured in ‘Poldark’s Cornwall’, Round House East is one of four thatched roundhouses built in 1820. They are said to have been built in the round so that the devil could not hide, and the crosses on top were intended to keep the devil away. Close to the Cornish coast path, dog-friendly beaches, coves, pubs and restaurants, gardens, galleries and National Trust properties, you can take it as lively or as quietly as you like at Round House East.
The house is within walking distance of the South West Coast Path and the beautiful, unspoilt beaches of Carne and Pendower and it is an idyllic place from which to explore all Cornwall has to offer. There are some stunning gardens in the vicinity to visit, including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and Trelissick. The city of Truro is within easy reach via the King Harry Ferry - which has been voted one of the most scenic ferry trips in the world! In Truro itself, visit the cathedral and They Royal Cornwall Museum. You can also catch the passenger ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth for another fun trip out. You are surrounded by many excellent pubs and restaurants within easy reach of Round House East, as well as fabulous local food shops. Also available nearby are boat hire, kayak and SUP hire and a cookery school.

Interior Details
The house is cosy and perfect for two. Downstairs is a fully equipped kitchen / diner with Smeg fridge, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave and coffee machine. The separate sitting room is ‘in the round’ and has a large Freeview TV, Apple TV, DVD player, hifi and selection of books. There is also a shower room / WC downstairs. Upstairs, the bedroom is also ‘in the round’ and has a super king sized bed with an en suite bathroom. There’s a TV in the bedroom. Unlimited superfast broadband, good mobile reception and 4G throughout.
Exterior Details
There’s a pretty little secluded garden to the rear with table, chairs and deckchairs. Off street parking at the front of the house.
Conditions:
Bedding, towels, heating, electricity and internet are all included. Changeover day Saturday. Short breaks are available from November to February. Deposit payable on booking and balance due 90 days before arrival. Up to two dogs may stay at the house at £25 per dog per holiday. We regret that Round House East is not suitable for children. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.
