North and Amsterdam
When someone says Holland, you say Amsterdam. Iconic and full of history, here is a city renowned for many wonderful things and when you visit you can see why, so if you’re looking for a holiday rental in the Netherlands, Amsterdam would be an excellent choice.
There is so much to see it might be hard to fit it all in but why not start with a cruise down the beautiful old canals? This, or hiring a bike, is the best way to soak up the atmosphere and there is nothing like seeing a city from the water. Whether you choose to spend your holidays here in upscale hotels or go the budget route, Amsterdam apartments will not be a problem. A stay in a holiday rental in the Netherlands would not be complete without a visit to Amsterdam’s Red Light District and it is a must-see. Likewise the Royal Palace Amsterdam, the monuments of Haarlem and the architectural wonders of the Eastern Harbour area are not to be missed. Full of things to see, eat, buy and do, this is a city you can fall in love with. Aside from Amsterdam itself the North part of Holland is an idyllic spot for a holiday rental in the Netherlands. Friesland is an area of stunning landscapes dotted with canals, lakes and fields of grazing cattle. Fantastic for water sports, the province’s capital, Leeuwarden, is also a lovely historic place full of museums, palaces and cattle and flower markets. Groningen, another Northern province, is a spectacular place for a holiday rental in the Netherlands. From the Martini Tower to the unusual Wall House, Groningen city is an interesting and welcoming place but nothing is quite as awe-inspiring as the Bourtange Fortress outside the city whose medieval architecture is one of a kind. Last but not least is Drenthe. Home to some impressive geology and the Emmen zoo, it is a natural and soothing setting for a holiday rental in the Netherlands away from the hustle and bustle.
