One-Off Feature

Sitting in an elevated position in a peaceful and friendly working village, The Olive Barn is a unique 300 year old property in the Peloponnese in Greece which was once the village olive oil press - quirky accommodation perfect for couples, friends and families. A 20 minute walk to beaches, tavernas and a fishing harbour.

General Info

Sympathetically converted to retain its original character and features, the barn is charmingly simple and rustic. And with its tranquil surroundings and breathtaking views over the Bay of Epidavros it is the perfect picturesque spot in which to relax and unwind away from the pressures of modern life. Although the location is rural, the nearest beach is within walking distance and a leisurely 20 minute walk will take you to the picturesque fishing harbour at Vathi, where there are three buzzing tavernas to choose from. Spend your days swimming, snorkelling, fishing, walking and exploring, or just enjoy the undisturbed peace and quiet.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Megalochori is on the ruggedly beautiful Methana peninsula in the eastern Peloponnese. Methana, less than a 10 minute drive from the barn, is a traditional Greek area untouched by mass tourism – here you will find an attractive tree lined promenade, a variety of tavernas and bars, and everything from small town shops, chemists and greengrocers to a bank and a post office. Methana is known for its curative thermal springs, and the area is criss-crossed with historic mountain paths which lead to isolated churches, ancient ruins and deserted villages. This is also an ideal location for day trips to Athens, Corinth, Epidavros, Argos and the islands of Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Angistri.

Getting There & Local Amenities
