Queen Street Hideaway is a gorgeous, luxury apartment for four guests, situated centrally with easy access to a great collection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The lively little fishing town of Amble is fittingly nicknamed ‘The Friendliest Port’ and with good reason. A five minute walk takes you to the working harbour, the sea is just yards from your door, and you can also reach the nearby village of Warkworth on foot, with its majestic castle and golden beach. If you want a car free holiday, then this is a great place to have one.
Voted ‘Britain’s Best Coastal High Street 2015’, Amble is a bustling fishing town and working port situated just 1 mile south of Warkworth Village, on the Coastal Route through Northumberland. It is most well-known for its interesting working harbour and quirky weekend markets, as well as the delicious fish and chip shops on the harbour. It’s less than a half hour walk to Warkworth village, with its pretty shops, cafes and dog-friendly pubs, as well as the castle, leafy river walks and of course, the beach. Amble itself has a small beach called 10 minutes walk from the cottage. It’s dog friendly out of season, between the months of October and April. Alternatively you can walk to Low Hauxley beach along the coast heading south and further onto Druridge Bay, which is dog friendly all year round. The views from the quayside are stunning of the estuary, Warkworth Castle and Coquet Island. There’s a great range of small, mostly independent shops and restaurants and a local sunday market. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area, from wildlife boat trips, to castles and gardens.

The apartment has two bedrooms and can sleep up to four adults (plus one baby). Up to two dogs are also very welcome. There’s one king size bedroom, and a second kingsize which can be converted to a twin on request. All bedding is included (please say if you need anti-allergenic). The living room / kitchen diner is open plan. The kitchen is well equipped and there is also a washer dryer. Large Smart TVs in the sitting room and both bedrooms all have Netflix, and the bedrooms also have USB points at the heads of the beds for phone chargers. There is a selection of games, and unlimited wifi throughout. There is a family bathroom with bath and shower, as well as underfloor heating.
There is a small yard accessed from the ground floor hallway, shared with the hairdressing salon below. There is no outside seating, but the yard can be used for storing bikes or surfboards etc. Although there is no allocated parking space, you can park overnight in front of the apartment for free (from 4pm until 10am) and nearby residential streets have unrestricted parking.
Conditions of Rental
2 medium sized well behaved dogs welcome at a charge of £20 each. Dog sitting available. Stairgate, travel cot and highchair available (please bring your own cot linen). Generous welcome hamper included. Arrival days are Friday or Monday (short breaks available). Refundable damages deposit (or smaller, non refundable damages waiver) required. Please note that the apartment is on the main street of Amble, and although we don’t anticipate you’re likely to be disturbed, it’s possible you might hear noises from the street / people passing by.
