In a quiet residential area in the heart of the old town, yet just 10 minutes from the main square, Riad Cinnamon is a beautifully restored merchant’s house with elegant suites, a dipping pool and a roof terrace with exceptional views. Do Marrakech in style.
Riad Cinnamon is a boutique hotel which provides the perfect base from which to explore all the wonders of this incredible city. Lovingly renovated to its former glory, its five luxurious suites can accommodate up to 16 people altogether, and guests can enjoy a wealth of facilities including a comfortable lounge, a generous patio where you can relax, use WiFi and cool off in the dipping pool, and a roof terrace with the kind of views that have to be seen to be believed. Could there be anywhere more atmospheric for dining al fresco and watching the sun set? The location is superb, just north of the famous souks and close to the renowned Marrakech Museum, and after a day of shopping, sightseeing and immersing yourself in the Moroccan culture and atmosphere you will be overjoyed to return to somewhere so cool, quiet and peaceful.
The riad is located in the most historic district of the Marrakech Medina near to the Marrakech Museum and the Ben Youssef Mosque. The famous Jemaa al Fna square is just a ten minute walk through the souks to the South. Marrakech has so much to offer that it is hard to narrow it down. Haggle in the famous souks, visit the splendid mosques and museums, sample mouth-watering Moroccan cuisine, visit Bahia Palace, try some of the restaurants and cafes in the newer parts of town, and marvel at the crafts on offer. Full of colour, sound and fragrance, Marrakech really is a feast for the senses.
The riad is accessed through the well-known Dar El Bashah entrance to the Medina which is about 15 minutes’ drive from the airport. We strongly recommend that guests use our airport transfer service priced at
The rooms have 12 foot high ceilings which are as practical as they are impressive, and each suite is decorated in its own unique styles and colours. All suites benefit from en-suite shower rooms, air-conditioning, iPod docking stations, personal safes, hairdryers, mini fridges, complimentary toiletries, luxury towels and robes and Satellite TV. Best of all are the comfortable beds and seriously fantastic bedding - the sheets and pillow cases are minimum 300 count Egyptian cotton and the duvets are incredibly lightweight silk, making them warm in winter and cool in summer. The riad also has a stylishly furnished lounge with an LCD TV and Satellite, a good selection of games and books, and a fireplace for the winter months.
The riad has a spacious central courtyard patio with plenty of shade and lots of little areas where you can have breakfast or relax and sip mint tea. It also has a fantastic dipping pool which is absolute heaven in the height of summer. There is a wonderful roof terrace, with a tented area for shade and plenty of space for sunbathing too. Indigenous Moroccan plants including palms, orange trees, bougainvillea and hibiscus scent the air and contribute to the relaxing atmosphere, and the terrace has views over the rooftops of the city, the High Atlas to the south and the mountains on the Casablanca road to the north.
The riad has been painstakingly restored working using traditional materials and craftsmen, while incorporating contemporary conveniences like an iPod docking station and WiFi. The dedicated Moroccan staff speak fluent English, as well as French and Arabic, and they really cannot do enough for you. Our concierge service offers advice and support with all aspects of your trip to Marrakech and we offer the loan of a local pay as you go mobile (one per room) to allow you to stay in touch with the riad throughout your stay. A delicious Moroccan breakfast is served at a time of your choice – this varies but can include crepes, croissants and pastries, breads from the local bakery, honey and jams, yoghurt, eggs, and fresh fruit salad, as well as tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Lunch and evening meals can also be provided for an extra cost (about 100 dirhams per person for lunch and 200 dirhams per person for a 3 course evening meal). We offer a range of traditional Moroccan dishes and all menus can be adapted to your requirements. There is even a celebration menu available for special occasions.
