Stylish, functional and modern, Cuckoo Croft Barn is a truly inspirational space, with high ceilings, open plan living areas and all a superb selection of mod cons. Natural light floods the house and large sliding doors let the outside in, and yet the underfloor heating keeps things cosy and features like exposed original brickwork keep things characterful. Whether you’re staying in for a party or out and about exploring the lovely countryside, Cuckoo Croft is a chic and relaxing base.
The barn is situated in the small village of Ryton, just 5 miles from the delightful town of Shrewsbury. The nearby village of Dorrington has a shop, an excellent pub and a Persian restaurant, and the local countryside is full of walks and cycling routes to suit all abilities. There are plenty of family-friendly attractions nearby, from Stokesay Castle to Llanrhaeader Waterfall, outdoor pursuits like shooting, quad biking and climbing are available and there are theatres, cinemas and museums for a hit of culture. And at the end of a busy day, relax in one of the region’s pubs and restaurants.
The barn is just 5 miles from the nearest motorway connection and there is a bus service to the village from Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Rail connections to this part of the country are also good.

The barn has five bedrooms – one en-suite double, one en-suite triple, one loft-style room with three single beds, one king size room and one en-suite annexe with a separate entrance. The contemporary kitchen has granite worktops, a washing machine and a double oven, and the open plan living room has a dining table for 12, large sofas and beanbags, and a selection of up to date entertainment systems.
Outside the living area there is a patio and a large west-facing lawned garden. An outdoor table and BBQ are provided and there is parking for 4 cars.
Conditions of Rental
No smoking. Generally no pets. A deposit of 20% is payable at the time of booking with the remainder due 8 weeks before the start of your stay. Check in is usually 4pm and check out is 10am. Discerning stag and hen parties are welcome.
