One-Off Feature

A gorgeous 3 bedroom barn in a remote corner of the western Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales.  Beautifully converted with lots of natural light, it’s surrounded by countryside views yet just a short walk to the village pub, and just four miles from the town of Llandovery.  Wonderful walking country.

General Info

The barn is just one mile from the village of Cilycwm, an easy walk down the track, where you’ll find the local pub, the Neuadd Fawr Arms.  Clearwater Barn can be booked alongside Clearwater Cottage if you are a larger group. The farm has been inhabited for hundreds of years, originally as a small hill farm.  The current owners now live in the original farmhouse, and the great barn was added in the 1850s.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Cwmcroiddur nestles in the valley with woodland on one side and open hillside on the other. To the south, there is an amazing panorama across rolling farmland to the peaks of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain. Behind the buildings the land rises to reveal miles of wild, open country ideal for walking, mountain biking, pony trekking, bird watching or just taking in the view you're looking for, then this is the place for you. Behind the barn a path leads straight out through a birch wood up onto Mynydd Mallaen.  Nearby you can pan for gold at Dologothi gold mines, enjoy fishing on the rivers or the great Llyn Brianne Reservoir - permits are needed, miles of great wild countryside for horse riding (on discussion with the owner visitors can bring horses). Or for a more leisurely holiday just take your time browsing the local and traditional shops that still exist, the butchers, the bakers, a lovely craft centre and local antique shops. Not forgetting of course the many pubs, cafes and restaurants.
