A tranquil and family friendly glamping retreat in the beautiful Haute Garonne region of France. A collection of large and luxurious bell tents set in seven acres and backing onto woodland, this is a wonderful spot for a back to nature summer holiday, where the children can roam and the adults can relax. La Vie en Rose is situated in the Sava Valley in a region of France famous for its sunflower fields and unspoilt beauty. It is down a country lane, surrounded by fields and backing onto hundreds of acres of woodland, outside the small village of Escanecrabe with its church and panoramic views of the Pyrenees.
There’s masses to do in the surrounding area if you want to go out and about exploring. Great opportunities for walking, cycling, horseriding, rafting, caneoing, hiking, fishing, climbing and wild swimming. The site is just 35 mins drive from the foothills of the Pyrenees where you can swim in the Pyrenean lakes. Visit the Lac du Gimone with its sandy beach and the nearby Relais Du Chateau, Gorges de la Save, the ancient Arboretum, Chateau Mauvezin, Chateau Caumont, pre-historic caves and grotto or La Jardins de la Poterie Hillen. The nearby small village of Cassagnbère has a wonderful bar (with live music on Fridays and Saturdays, local beers and wines as well as a small menu) and holds a music festival and local fetes. The hilltop town of Aurignac has a Saturday market, wonderful outdoor pool, Musee de la Prehistorie and the market town of Boulogne sur Gesse with its outdoor swimming pool, children’s play area, boating lake, 18th century aquaduct, mini golf, lakeside restaurant and weekly Wednesday market are both within 10 minutes. Or visit the pretty market town of Castelnau-Magnoac with its thriving Saturday market. You could take a day trip to the UNESCO world heritage town of Saint Bertrand de Comminges or to the fascinating city of Toulouse. There are lots of great local restaurants nearby and friendly farmers markets where you can try out the local produce.
The nearest airports are Toulouse Blagnac and Lourdes which are both 1 hour by car. Pau airport is 1 hour 30 mins and Carcassonne is 2 hours away. You can hire cars at any of these airports. If you’re driving from the UK, La Vie en Rose is about 11 hours from Calais. By train you can take the Eurostar to Paris and then the TGV to Toulouse and then on to our nearest train station, Boussens.

Each of the bell tents is made up of a conjoined 6m and 5m tent and has an internal space of 45m2. Each tent can sleep 4-6 people. There are two bedrooms, one of which is superking with luxury cotton sheets. There is a private outdoor wooden kitchen (15m2) with gas hob, plancha and fridge (with a box of basic supplies, utensils, crockery and cutlery). Each tent also has its own private shower and toilet with hairdryers, soap and towels included. The tents have wooden decking and shaded canvas awnings with sun loungers. The shared outdoor lounge area has a selection of games, board games and books and also has wireless internet and charging points.
On site there is a fenced and heated salt water swimming pool with a splash area and a games area - basketball pitch, volleyball, table tennis, pool table, petanque, swingball, football, slide and swings. There is an outdoor lounge where you can relax in the shade reading a book or you can enjoy the swinging in your own private hammock whilst the children go exploring. At night time you can enjoy the beautiful starry skies.
La Vie en Rose is a family run site and we welcome other families! We have lots of baby / child equipment including high chairs, pushchair, baby bath, baby carrier etc, just ask! A breakfast of fresh fruit, bread, pain au chocolat and croissants is delivered fresh to your tent each morning and a basics box of coffee, tea, milk, butter, sugar etc is included. There is a small supply of wine, beer and soft drinks available to purchase on site.
Conditions of Rental
40% deposit on booking with balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. Prices based on 4 people per tent and includes breakfast. Additional cost of € 25 per night for extra people in a tent. The site is open from June - September. Min stay one week. Arrival / departure day Friday or Saturday. Sorry, no pets. Bed linen, towels, use of washing machine, charging points and wireless internet included.
