In the beautiful Swiss mountain village of Borgonova in Val Bregaglia, over 1000m above sea level, you will find Ca D’Alberto, a beautiful, architect renovated, seventeenth century barn for up to six people. A perfect location for skiiers and snowboarders in winter, and for mountaineers, hikers and mountain bikers in summer.
The skiing region of Maloja-Aela and the small ski lift from Casaccia is very family friendly and allows visitors of all ages to enjoy themselves on skis and snowboards. There are cross-country ski runs, several kilometers long, near Maloja. Winter hiking on foot or with snowshoes is a less fast-paced alternative. Though a paradise for hikers and mountaineers, it is also a peaceful refuge for artists. The barn is in the valley where the artist Alberto Giacometti was born. There are 180km of hiking trails where stunning panoramic views abound. Bergell is the ideal valley for sports enthusiasts.
30 metres from the house is the "Postal" bus towards Chiavenna (18km) or Saint Moritz (31km). Close to the pony lift and the snow tubing facilities in Maloja there is a toboggan run, and there are two ice skating rinks and ice climbing facilities. There is a sports centre in Vicosoprano with an artificial ice skating rink which is open from the end of Oct - Feb. There is a natural ice rink next to the hall in Maloja which is open from the end of Dec - Feb.
Engadin airport, in St. Moritz, is just a 45-minute drive from Bregaglia (31 Km). Other airports include Milano Malpensa (164km), Milano Linate (147km) and Bergamo (122km).
