Lovingly handbuilt with timber from the Forest of Dean, this delightful Gloucestershire holiday cottage offers warm and cosy accommodation, with a whole host of character features including beautiful beams, stained glass windows and wooden floors, which combine seamlessly with contemporary modern comforts.  The forest has many stunning walks and cycle routes, which can all be enjoyed from your doorstep. If you fancy a day trip, visit the historic waterfront city of Gloucester with its Victorian Docklands, magnificent Norman cathedral and bustling city centre which boasts a superb range of shops, pubs and restaurants. This is a wonderful Gloucestershire cottage in an ideal location for discovering this beautiful part of the country.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The thriving village of Mitcheldean, with its old timbered houses and narrow streets is situated close to the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The forest offers numerous trails that can be explored on foot, by bicycle or by horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are on offer for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. Just a short drive away, in the historic waterfront city of Gloucester, you will find Roman foundations, Victorian Docklands and a spectacular Norman Cathedral (whose cloisters were used as a location in the Harry Potter films). Also within easy reach are the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, in the heart of rural Herefordshire, boasting timbered Tudor houses and excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, and The Severn Estuary, famous for its tidal bore, which is a delight for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts and bore surfers alike. This unspoilt area has something to offer everyone at any time of the year.  The nearest shop and pub are 1.5 miles away.

The spacious open plan living area in your Gloucestershire holiday cottage features a charming handmade kitchen, dining area and sitting area, with the added benefit of a coal-effect electric fire and overlooking the pretty cottage garden.  All ground floor. One double bedroom. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with fitted handmade kitchen, dining area and sitting area with double sofa bed if required and coal-effect electric fire.  Electric wall radiators with electric fire in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, TV with Freeview, DVD, stereo/CD player, small library of books and games.

There is a private patio area with handmade furniture and BBQ.  the garden is a perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this unspoilt area.  Off road parking for one car.

Conditions of Rental

All fuel and power, bed linen and towels, are included in the rent.  Sorry, but no pets and no smoking.
