Advertiser FAQs

What qualifies as a One Off Place?
All registered properties must be able to prove their One Off quality to us – each property will be assessed on its own merits based on the qualities of some or all of the following: location, interior, exterior and facilities.  We don’t insist on specific criteria as the nature of a One off Place is that it is non conformist!

What service do you provide to advertisers?
One Off Places offers a single advertising option - a small commission payable per each booking which comes about as a result of a One Off Places enquiry.  We also sometimes work on an affiliate basis. All properties are listed in the search and destinations pages, as well as being indexed individually by the search engines.  The listing price includes images, full detailed text about the property and the surrounding areas, contact details, and enquiry form.  All enquiries are stored in your login area and are sent to you by email.  You can also receive enquiry notifications by SMS message if you choose to opt into this service. You can also choose to pay a bit more to get homepage listing features, results features, newsletter features or to add more properties.  

How much does it cost?
Prices vary depending on the package and duration of the listing.  Please contact us to find out more. There are additional items available at extra cost.

What methods of payment can I use?
Our preferred method of payment is bank transfer (UK£ only).  We can also accept cheques (UK£ only) and Paypal payments.

Once I’ve registered, how long will it take before I know whether my property is eligible as a One off Place?
We aim to review and activate completed adverts within a few days of receiving all the necessary information.  Within this period of time we will confirm whether your property can be listed on our site as a one off place and if so, make any necessary edits and confirm your listing.

You want images but I don’t have them in emailable format.  How should I get them to you?
We would prefer to receive images via an image storage site such as dropbox, or by email.  

What size should my images be?
Ideally your images should be sent to us as jpeg files (.jpg) - One Off Places staff and resize and edit them as necessary.

Can I add different pictures later?
Yes, you can send us updated images whenever you want.

What sort of photos do you recommend that I use?
Remember that images sell!  Make sure that you pick photographs which show how appealing your property is and which show all of its best features.  We would also recommend that you use a good range of images, so that people get a feel for the inside, outside and surrounding areas of the property. 

Can I make changes to my listing once it’s live on the site?
Yes you can.  You send the updates to us and we will make the changes for you.

Is my payment secure?
Yes.  Anyone who wishes to pay by card will be sent a Paypal money request (you do NOT need a paypal account in order to pay by card via this means).  This means that One off Places never has access to your card details.

What is your refund policy?

You have the right to cancel your listing within seven days should you be unhappy for whatever reason with the service being provided. If you do decide to cancel, your listing will be disabled and you will have your payment returned.

I would like increased exposure on the One Off Places website – how do I do that?
There are individual extra advertising options which can help to increase exposure on the website – eg newsletter features, property of the month, homepage features etc.  Have a look at the pricing page for more details of the packages we have available. 

How can I find out how many enquiries I’m getting?
From the individual login area, each advertiser will be able to see a detailed list of the enquiries they have received and the dates on which those enquiries were sent.

How can I increase the number of enquiries I’m getting?
If you are concerned that you are not getting enough enquiries then please don’t hesitate to talk to us.  There could be a number of reasons for this.  Perhaps you need to update the images and the text to entice more people, or speak to our staff about ways in which you can increase the profile on the website. 

I can’t login to my account – what is wrong?
Please check you are entering the correct username and password!  If still no luck, then send an email to support@oneoffplaces.co.uk and we will sort it out!
