General Info

This wonderful period house is in a secluded position and reached by a long private drive. Yet despite its seclusion, you are within walking distance of the local pub, The Three Horseshoes at Groesffordd, and just two miles from the town of Brecon - a short drive or a simple walk over the private river bridge and along the River Usk.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Brecon is two miles away from the house and is a beautiful cathedral town with views of the majestic mountains all around. Nestled between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains there are oodles of outdoor pursuits on the doorstep. Walking, mountain biking, road biking, caving, gliding, kayaking, horse riding.... the list is endless. Brecon is a great town to explore with its art shops, galleries, boutiques, a wonderful Norman Cathedral, cinema and theatre. There are some wonderful restaurants and cafes in the area, including the acclaimed Felin Fach Griffin.

Interior Details

The house can sleep up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms.  The three first floor bedrooms are made up of one king size (with Jack and Jill bathroom) and two twins.  The second floor has two kings and a twin.  There is a bathroom on each floor.  Downstairs, a large country style kitchen with an oil fired Aga.  A large fridge freezer, dishwasher and dining table and chairs for 12 with French doors leading through to a conservatory.  The conservatory has sofa and chairs, TV, DVD and doors to the terrace. There is also a formal dining room with family portraits and a grand dining table and chairs.  There is a wood panelled period drawing room with open fireplace, and a further small snug with another open fire. Also downstairs is a cloakroom and utility room.  Just across the courtyard is a large Games Room with a full size Pool Table and Table Tennis; a TV, a good supply of toys and games.

Exterior Details

The house is set in 120 acres of private riverside estate parkland, with well kept gardens, a small lake, an orchard, a well maintained hard tennis court and even your own cricket pitch on the lawn behind the house!  There is a sunny terrace with garden furniture, sun loungers and a BBQ.  There is half a mile of double bank fishing just a few minutes walk from the door - some of the best brown trout fishing on the River Usk, bookable through the Wye and Usk Foundation.  


Towels, linen, electricity, central heating, wood for open fire, wifi, travel cot and highchair included. Sorry no dogs (shooting estate).  No hen or stag parties.  Returnable security bond of £350 due on booking.  Contact us if you wish to bring your own horse and we can organise newly renovated and secure stables.
