Approached from a quiet lane and tucked away behind stone walls and gates you will find Trullo Patrizia, a 300 year old stone farmhouse in Puglia surrounded by beautiful gardens and several acres of olive groves and fruit trees. Experience the romance of Southern Italy in comfort and style.
This recently renovated trullo, set on a hill a short distance from Alberobello, is the perfect place to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the scenery and tranquillity of rural Puglia. Recently renovated and yet remaining completely original, the house is fitted out with traditional local furniture and very much retains its rustic charm. With a private pool to cool off in, extensive grounds to wander in, and a network of country lanes to explore on foot or by bike, Trullo Patrizia is an idyllic Italian retreat.
The trullo offers a complete escape into the quiet, unspoilt Puglian countryside. The immediate area is very rural so is ideal for walking and cycling, but the house is also just half an hour’s drive from 500 miles of lovely beaches where you can swim, sunbathe and windsurf. There are golf courses and historic sites within 45 minutes of the trullo, Castellana Grotto (the largest cave complex in Italy) is 25 minutes away, and it is also not far to Polignano, Matera, Cisternino, Ostuni, Lecce and Gallipoli. Just 10 minutes away there are shops, restaurants and supermarkets so although secluded you are by no means completely cut off. Puglia is the "heel" of Italy, and is known for its wine, fruit, olive oil and seafood, and of course its laidback, friendly locals. Whether you’re a culture vulture and archaeologist or a sun worshipper and water sports lover, this is the ideal holiday destination.
The house is 60 minutes from Bari airport and also not far from Brindisi.
Bari or Brindisi 60 minutes
The trullo has a large entrance hall which leads to two double bedrooms with original coned/vaulted ceilings, king size beds and en-suite shower rooms. The cosy third bedroom adjoins the lounge and has a coned ceiling, a double sofa-bed and an en-suite toilet/basin. A spiral staircase leads to the dining room which has a large table for 6, the living area has a sofa and chairs, Satellite TV, a DVD player and a hi-fi, and the kitchen area is well-equipped for catering, with a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster, cutlery, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils. You will also find a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board.
The patios which surround the trullo offer panoramic views and are perfect for entertaining and dining, and the beautiful gardens, full of local plants and bushes, can be lit at night for atmosphere. The private south-facing swimming pool sits a short distance from the house, and here you will find large umbrellas, loungers and cushions for shade and comfort. The trullo is set in its own private 5 acres of olive, walnut, fig and cherry trees, on top of a hill with fantastic views. The nearest houses are several hundred metres away so the trullo is completely private and not overlooked.
Our Italian property managers are fluent in several languages and have lots of experience in the tourism industry. They can advise you on things to see and do in the local area or they can provide extra services like cookery classes or deliveries of local produce.
