The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the historic hamlet of Strefford is situated within the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 2.5 miles from the small market town of Craven Arms. You can also visit the village of Wisantstow. Two miles away is Craven Arms, which is often known as The Gateway to the Marches and is ideally based for walks in the lovely Wenlock Edge and Corvedale Valley. Craven Arms itself offers historic houses, a number a shops and pubs and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, the Land of Lost Content museum and to the south of the town is Stokesay Castle, one of England’s finest fortified manors. There are number of delightful places to visit within reach, such as the historic towns of Church Stretton, Bishop’s Castle, Ludlow and Shrewsbury. Strefford is a convenient base for your Shropshire getaway.
