One-Off Feature

A truly memorable base for visiting John o’Groats and exploring Scotland’s scenic North Coast 500 route. The Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage offers quirky accommodation perched on a clifftop surrounded by the sea. It is a unique setting for anyone in search of a stay in a lighthouse cottage and is one of the few cottages in the area with four stars from Visit Scotland and a Gold Award for Green Tourism.

General Info

Need a relaxing break and a refuge from city life? Or family adventures with the kids? Or somewhere unique for a big birthday? The Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage is a light and cosy hideaway, set on a headland with sea on three sides – you can even see a ruined castle out of the kitchen window! Sustainability and inclusion were first on our minds when we furnished the Cottage, and we are proud of our Gold award for Green Tourism. The Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage has everything you need in a home from home. It sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms. It is the perfect romantic getaway for couples, families love staying here, and we welcome dogs. Our Scottish Short-term Let Licence application number is 130097967.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Caithness is one of Scotland’s hidden gems. There's John o'Groats of course. Or you could take a day trip to Orkney, or a boat trip to see seals, orcas and visiting puffins. Families with young children love the fairy glen at Latheron and going to the petting farms. Older children often enjoy taster sessions for surfing or body boarding. And it wouldn't be Scotland if we didn't have half a dozen distilleries with tastings and tours
