The cottage is situated on the Cabalva Estate, a family-run sheep and beef farm within a beautiful tranquil setting. Inside, traditional features like the large fireplace, exposed stonework and oak flooring blend seamlessly with every modern convenience and indulgence. Outside, perry pear orchards, hedgerows and oak woodland overlook the River Wye, Hay and the famous Black Mountains beyond. Whether you'’re here for romance, nature or outdoor pursuits Mill Cottage will provide a truly unique and memorable holiday.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The countryside around here is nothing short of breath-taking and there is much to explore. The fields and woodland around the cottage are full of wildlife, from sheep and hares to woodcock, hedgehogs, robins and red kites, or you could head down to famous Offa's Dyke and walk up into the hills or down to the river. The famous book town of Hay-on-Wye is just 3 miles away, and in the area you can also go cycling, riding, canoeing and fishing. And if you don’t want to self-cater there are lots of excellent places to eat and drink – try The Tram at Eardisley, The Stagg at Titley or Tomatitos in Hay-on-Wye itself.

You will also find a bookcase full of books, Freeview Satellite, a DVD player, Wi-Fi and board games. The kitchen, with seating for 4, is well-equipped and stylish, the bathroom is modern, tiled and warm, and the bedroom has a super kingside bed with a supremely comfortable mattress and 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. What better way to go to sleep than to the sound of a waterfall?
