This Scottish glampsite is uniquely situated right by a magnificent sandy beach on Lochhouses farm, east of Edinburgh. The treehouses have a panoramic view of the beach and dunes from a high tree-lined ridge - this is the perfect holiday destination for families, couples and countryside enthusiasts.
Lochhouses farm, where the treehouses are situated, adjoins the John Muir Country Park so you have beach, sea, walking, riding, fishing and wildlife right on your doorstep. Aside from the treehouses, there are also seven safari tents on site, snuggled under the trees by the beach. Both treehouses and tents are perfect for the ‘luxury’ camper, who would rather glamp than camp, safe in the knowledge that they’ll have a real bed to sleep in, electricity and hot showers! Also on site there is a farm shop, BBQ and campfire facilities, and a kids corner with chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep and ponies. According to the Scottish holidays travel guide, this little coastal paradise between North Berwick and Dunbar has less rain and more sunshine than any other part of the UK!
There is masses to do in the surrounding area for lovers of the coast and the great outdoors. On site we have our own horses and mini rare breed Skyrian ponies, and the next door farm runs a trekking centre with horses for all levels of riders and little ponies to cater for the ‘mini riders’! Heaven for horse riders with miles of beach and woodland to gallop along! The birdwatching here is superb, with a multitude of wild birds flocking to the sand dunes, as well as the lochs and wetlands. There are lots of trails along the dunes and through our woodland to explore in this fabulous countryside, so bring your bikes. Locally grown and reared food in the many local village and farm shops, and even locally caught crab and lobster from the sea right in front of Lochhouses! Also nearby - go cable wakeboarding, fishing, visit the Scottish seabird centre, Rosslyn Chapel (made famous by the Da Vinci Code), or visit the championship golf and country club at Whitekirk where there are special rates for Harvest Moon guests to use the gym, pool, restaurant and golf course.

A covered walkway leads you through to the octagonal living area, fully kitted out with log burning stove, Belfast sink, pine dresser, and a generous supply of crockery, cutlery and utensils. There’s a yacht style table which can be converted into a bed for additional guests. The treehouses have electricity - enough to charge phones, a small fridge, some lighting. No TV or Wifi.
Exterior Details
Each treehouse has a raised deck with breathtaking panoramic views of the sea (and the famous Bass Rock) to the front, and the forest behind. The deck is 2 metres high, and the treehouses are accessed via wooden steps. Below deck on the soft, sandy ground, you’ll find swings and a love seat.
