This luxury self catering accommodation in Hay on Wye is superbly located overlooking the river and only 100 metres from the centre of this historic border town in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Featuring three contemporary, well-appointed and spacious houses, each with balconies and decks close to and overlooking the magnificent River Wye in Mid Wales.
Each three story house is identical and offers holiday accommodation with three bedrooms for up to five people for a long weekend, mid-week break, or indeed for longer stays. These stylish holiday getaways offer something different from your classic cottage luxury in Wales with contemporary designs that make the most of their proximity to the riverside. Featuring glass walls onto balconies and terraces they offer unhindered and exceptional views of the river bank and the sights and sounds of the River Wye as it runs through this beautiful mid-Wales landscape. Summer or winter, rain or shine, our aim is to create a 'living in the landscape' experience for our guests to enjoy. In creating these retreats we wanted to create something out of the ordinary. We saw the need for contemporary self-catering accommodation in Hay on Wye that is aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sensitive.
Immediately outside Hay Riverside Retreats are walks on both banks of the river Wye. A good quality footpath leads upriver to the Warren, a natural riverside stone beach with good pools for swimming in. Below the houses is the launch area for canoe trips down the river Wye. Fishing is easy for anyone staying in Hay, as there are fishing rights along the riverbank adjoining the town. Hay-on-Wye sits on the Offa's Dyke trail. This trail provides wonderful walking opportunities. The houses are also situated on the Wye Valley walk, offering another excellent walking option. Hay is surrounded by hills and mountains and is located within The Brecon Beacons National Park. There are lots of options with trails and pathways for gentle strolls or more arduous walks. For those interested in bike riding, mid Wales offers stupendous road and mountain biking opportunities. Hay has a good cycling and hiking centre.
Millbank is accessed off Broad Street and is clearly signposted on the left as you drive along Broad Street away from the town centre.

The middle floor has a spacious living room overlooking the river. Across a small hall is the master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower. The top floor has another large bedroom that can be configured with either a super king-sized bed or twins. Also on this floor are a single bedroom/study and a bath and shower room. French doors lead from the kitchen onto a paved terrace with furniture for eating outside. The living room has folding glass doors and a 17 foot wide balcony.
Hay on Wye, a thriving Welsh border town, is a popular destination for country holidays in Wales and on the borders with England. Hay attracts visitors from all over the world. Renowned as the largest centre for second-hand books, the town also boasts the internationally famous Hay Festival that attracts thousands of visitors seeking country holidays in Wales mixed with culture for ten days in late May and early June. There is plenty on offer within the town with cafes and gastro pubs for food and drink, bookshops galore, galleries, quality gift and craft shops and historic buildings including our medieval castle. Nearby are a number of excellent restaurants. Riverside paths are found on both banks of the River Wye and are easily accessible for leisurely strolls or more strenuous hikes. We have a long standing relationship with artists who exhibit locally at the highly regarded Kilvert Gallery and are delighted to feature their work in our luxury self-catering holiday accommodations, Hay on Wye. Many of these works are for sale, and a brochure is available in each accommodation.
