Villa Miranda is a beautifully restored villa with a private pool sleeping up to eight people with rustic interiors and breathtaking sea views. Iti s located in the village of Melana in the Peloponnese, a region where the sea and mountains combine. The olive groves, wild herbs and flowers make walking along the numerous tracks with their panoramic views an exhilarating experience.
Melena is a peaceful rural village set on the Arcadian hillside overlooking the sea. The whole area for many miles around is extremely beautiful. Rugged mountains covered with olive groves, cypress and eucalyptus trees slope down to clear sparkling sea with clean and deserted beaches. The nearest beaches, towns and villages are only 3 to 10 minutes drive away. Villa Miranda is situated in a hillside village approximately 2km from the beach. Car hire is recommended to explore the many secluded beaches and coves along the coast, inland villages, places of historic and archaeological interest and nearby market towns.
The beautiful little towns of Leonidion and Tyros have a variety of shops, tavernas and nightclubs. Tyros is set on the sea front with numerous tavernas overlooking a beautiful natural harbour where many picturesque boats are moored. It provides excellent swimming and food shopping. Leonidion is a short distance from Melana by car. Linked to it is the harbour. of Plaka with its popular, but not crowded, beach and harbour side restaurants. Reasonably priced taxis link these two towns with Melana. Between Tyros and Leonidion are several beautiful beaches, a number of which are often entirely deserted and only sparsely populated during peak summer months. There is a hydrofoil service Tyros (near Melena) to the islands of Spetsae and Hydra. Lively nightlife can be found in neighbouring towns as well as numerous tavernas where you can enjoy a drink or a meal.
Getting There:
Most people fly into Athens airport which is approx 2.5 hours drive from Melana. Alternatively, you can fly into Kalamata which is approx 2.5 hours from Melana. Detailed driving directions given on booking. Hiring a car is advised. You can hire a car from Athens or locally, once you have reached the Villa Miranda using alternative transportation. There are coaches from Athens-Pireaus to Melana which take 3.5 - 4 hours. Access to the house is via a winding, firm but unmade road.The car can be left near but not at the door of the house . There is a short but steep descent to the main gates of the house - fine for younger and healthy folk but not for the elderly or unfit.

Interior Details
Villa Miranda is a beautiful old stone house which has been completely renovated. It has three main double bedrooms and other sleeping areas which means it can accommodate up to 8 people. There are two bathrooms: one with a bath and shower and one with a shower unit; a very large open plan lounge dining room and well equipped kitchen. There is of course, hot water, a large fridge freezer, a modern electric cooker and a sound system for playing music. The house has air conditioning and central heating which makes it delightfully comfortable throughout the year.

Villa Miranda has a private swimming pool, a large patio garden with a BBQ and two terrace areas with breathtaking views of the sea.
