One-Off Feature

Built around 1850, Gardeners Cottage was once home to the head gardener of a beautiful estate and it now offers a historic, stylish and well-proportioned holiday hideaway for friends, families and couples alike.

General Info

Gardeners Cottage sits in the grounds of the Whittern Estate, a picturesque 700 acre landholding that offers a peaceful country retreat in which to relax, romance or reunite. This cottage is one of five within the estate but its spacious interiors and private garden makes it feel perfectly secluded, and the renovation has been carried out using contemporary décor and designer furniture. If you want to explore the green county of Herefordshire from somewhere truly tranquil and inspiring then this could be just the place.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

Beyond the private garden there are endless acres of fields, orchards and woodland for you to explore and there are four excellent walking trails that go round the farm, through the woods, over open countryside and connect with other foot paths (you can even walk to the pub). Within about a half hour drive you can play golf, try shooting, go canoeing and go-karting, cycle and horse ride, and nearby you will find Hay-on-Wye with its numerous book shops, the border towns of Kington and Presteigne and Ludlow with its renowned food markets and restaurants. In the area you will find gardens, houses, castles and farms, as well as an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants.
