One-Off Feature

What better way to escape the pressures of modern life than to head deep into the heart of a forest within a breathtakingly beautiful Welsh valley and sleep in a comfortableyurt or tipi at this off-grid, wifi-free forest retreat? Unwind and relax in tranquil natural surroundings and allow yourself to feel utterly removed from the outside world.  Each yurt or tipi is situated in its own secluded and spacious location, spread out over more than 50 acres, and each has its very own private, wood-fired outdoor bath with amazing views of the forest and valley!

General Info

Escape, relax and recharge at this unique off-grid retreat deep in the Dyfi forest.  Situated 25 minutes off the tar road on a working organic farm, Eco Retreats is an off-grid, wifi-free, eco-friendly forest retreat with accommodation in four yurts and one tipi. Here you will feel far away from the stresses and strains of modern day living and have the opportunity to rediscover the simple pleasures of life as you relax into the rhythms of the forest.  Each yurt or tipi is set in its own private area, away from other guests – there are just 5 units spread over 50 acres – with its own private eco-loo and shower block and a private outdoor wood-fired bath. The yurts and tipi are well-equipped with wood-burning stove and cooking facilities, and each living spacealso has an outdoor campfire and seating area. Since there’s no electricity, the tents are lit at night with candles in lanterns and the stars are breathtaking.  Great for couples and families to spend time away from TV, computers and mobile phones, reconnecting with nature and with each other. Children can experience the joy of playing freely outside in the meadows and streams. Perfect for a special occasion or just to get away from it all.  Well-situated with a host of things for the whole family to do within 30-60 mins drive – beaches, mountains, walking, adventure, culture, markets. Meditation and reiki sessions also available on site; riverside teahouse and conscious living resource centre.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The site is located on a working organic farm in the heart of the Dyfi Forest, on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The mountain of Cadair Idris lies to the north and the beaches of Aberdyfi and Ynys Las to the south. There’s plenty to do in the local area, from walking and biking to rock climbing and mountaineering. You can also go canoeing or canyoning, and the local beaches are great for windsurfing. If you want to do something a little more relaxing, visit the Ynyshir bird reserve, explore the underground caverns at King Arthur's Labyrinth, take a steam train past Dolgoch Falls, or visit the Corris Craft Centre where there is an impressive collection of unique Celtic and contemporary craftwork. Machynlleth itself has a fantastic food market on Wednesdays which is full of great local and organic produce, and the town is also home to a wholefoods shop, a deli and an award-winning butcher.
