Windmills / Millhouses

Sadly there is less use nowadays than there used to be for original windmills and millhouses but that loss is the holiday accommodation world’s gain. They are wonderfully atmospheric places to stay.

Windmills and millhouses both make delightfully characterful holiday properties, each for different reasons. Windmill conversions have become more and more popular and although there are lots of good reasons why they have one distinguishing feature that makes them truly unique: views. Look out from the top of a windmill and you’ll understand.

Millhouses, on the other hand, are generally lower to the ground but have an equally picturesque backdrop. If you’ve ever imagined what it would be like to live on the banks of a river or go to sleep to the sound of a nearby waterfall then this is exactly the type of property for you.
