One-Off Feature

Rosie the 1885 Showman’s wagon has been beautifully restored and painted by one of the last trained gypsy wagon painters in the country. Sitting overlooking a woodland garden on the grounds of a working pottery, she offers a truly eclectic B&B experience for those with a spirit of adventure!

General Info

Rosie's opulent gypsy chic interior has been lovingly and thoughtfully finished, from the thick velvet custom-made curtains and cushions to the handmade cut glass knobs on all the windows and cupboards. Every day we bring a breakfast basket to your door with freshly baked croissants, fruit, toast, cereals, yoghurt and fruit juice.  And just outside your gypsy caravan you can do some pottery of your own– we run one-day and long weekend courses in small tailored classes, so whatever your level of skill and creativity you can have fun and learn something new.

The Area Surrounding The Property / Accommodation

The B&B is within walking distance of the village centre and the local beaches, and within a couple of miles of Keyhaven and Hurst Spit. Lymington and the New Forest are just a short drive away.

Getting There & Local Amenities

Getting There:
From Lymington continue on along the A337 and take the B3056 on the left hand side to Milford. Turn right after the school (before you get into the village) into Manor Road. Follow the road around the bend to the left. After the Baptist church, take the 3rd little lane on your right, Vinegar Hill. We are at the bottom on the left hand side.

Accommodation Details

Interior Details
The wagon boasts a supremely comfortable full size double bed covered by a luxurious duvet and a hand stitched vintage lace spread. Electricity is provided for the converted vintage oil lamps, the cast iron stove (for heating) and the electric kettle and the cupboards are fully stocked with teas, coffees, biscuits and cereals etc.

Exterior Details
The wagon has a patio (shared with the Garden Room) with a table, chairs and 2 wood burning chimineas, so this is the perfect spot for an al fresco breakfast or for stargazing. There is a heated wetroom/shower just a few yards away. Bikes are available for guests’ use.

Further Details
The wagon sits on the grounds of a B&B and access is through the working pottery on site. As well as the wagon itself the B&B offers two further beautiful bedrooms – the Garden Room (downstairs) and the Hayloft (upstairs). The Garden Room is a spacious room with a bathroom and a separate sitting/dining area, so is perfect for families. The Hayloft is a large en-suite accessible via an external spiral staircase therefore completely self-contained. If you’re staying in the B&B, babysitting can be arranged – please just ask for further details. See the website for more details about pottery courses.

Conditions of Rental
Rate includes breakfast. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children in the wagon. Rosie is available from March to October. No smoking and no pets. There is usually a 2 night minimum stay at weekends. Please do not call after 9pm.
