What qualifies as a One Off Place?
All registered properties must be able to prove their One Off quality to us – each property will be assessed on its own merits based on the qualities of some or all of the following: location, interior, exterior and facilities. We don’t insist on specific criteria as the nature of a One off Place is that it is non conformist!
What service do you provide to advertisers?
One Off Places offers a standard advertising package of £95 per year for an individual property. All properties are listed in the search and destinations pages, as well as being indexed individually by the search engines. The listing price includes 12 images, full detailed text about the property and the surrounding areas, contact details, enquiry form and availability calendar. You can also choose to pay a bit more to get homepage listing features, results features, newsletter features or to add more properties or photos. Aside from the advert itself, all our advertisers also have access to their own personal login area where they can update their details, check their payment history, view their enquiries and read advice on how best to advertise their property.
How much does it cost?
Standard package: £120 per year. There are additional items available at extra cost.
What methods of payment can I use?
One off Places can accept bank transfers, cheques (UK£ only)Paypal payments and card payments made through the WorldPay payment service.
Once I’ve registered, how long will it take before I know whether my property is eligible as a One off Place?
We aim to review and activate completed adverts within 96 hours at the very most. Within this period of time we will confirm whether your property can be listed on our site as a one off place and if so, make any necessary edits and confirm your listing.
You want images but I don’t have them in emailable format. How should I get them to you?
We would far prefer to receive images by email (or on a CD if necessary). However, if you are unable to scan your photos and email them to us, please feel free to post them to us and we will scan and upload them on your behalf. Enclose a stamped addressed envelope to ensure their safe return.
What size should my images be?
Ideally your images should be sent to us as jpeg files (.jpg) and ideally no more than 50-70kb in size so that they appear on the page straight away when people are looking at your property. We would recommend that you resize your pictures so that they are about 400-600 pixels wide. There are lots of image editing suites available (photoshop, paint shop, paint etc). However, if you are having problems resizing your images, One off Places staff are able to do this for you.
Can I add different pictures later?
Yes, you will be able to change your photos whenever you want by logging into your account and uploading new images in place of the old ones.
What sort of photos do you recommend that I use?
Remember that images sell! Make sure that you pick photographs which show how appealing your property is and which show all of its best features. We would also recommend that you use a good range of images, so that people get a feel for the inside, outside and surrounding areas of the property. All advertisers will be able to access our ‘photographic tips’ document from their login area.
Can I make changes to my listing once it’s live on the site?
Yes you can. When you make changes to your text or images, One off Places staff are informed so that we can check the changes before making them live on the site. This means that there is often a short delay between you making changes and those changes becoming live – but never more than a couple of days.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Anyone who wishes to pay by card will either through Paypal or through the WorldPay payment service. This means that One off Places never has access to your card details.
What payment methods can you accept through WorldPay?
We can accept payments made with Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, JCB and Solo cards.

What is your refund policy?
You have the right to cancel your listing within seven days should you be unhappy for whatever reason with the service being provided. If you do decide to cancel, your listing will be disabled and you will have your payment returnedspan>
I would like increased exposure on the One Off Places website – how do I do that?
There are individual extra advertising options which can help to increase exposure on the website – eg newsletter features, property of the month, homepage features etc. Have a look at the pricing page for more details of the packages we have available.
How can I find out how many enquiries I’m getting?
From the individual login area, each advertiser will be able to see a detailed list of the enquiries they have received and the dates on which those enquiries were sent.
How can I increase the number of enquiries I’m getting?
If you are concerned that you are not getting enough enquiries then please don’t hesitate to talk to us. There could be a number of reasons for this. Perhaps you need to update the images and the text to entice more people, or speak to our staff about ways in which you can increase the profile on the website.
I can’t login to my account – what is wrong?
Please check you are entering the correct username and password! If still no luck, then send an email to support@oneoffplaces.co.uk and we will sort it out!
