General Info |

Staying in this log cabin is a chance to experience Ontario’s history while enjoying a peaceful and picturesque holiday with family and friends. The cabin was built in 1854 but was moved to the current location in 1934 and has now been thoughtfully restored into two separate living and sleeping areas. Beside the log cabin is a 3-bedroom cottage and together the two properties sleep up to 16 people, which makes it perfect for groups of families holidaying together. The cabin and cottage sit in a park-like setting alongside scenic White’s Creek and they lead down to a wide sandy beach facing west over Lake Simcoe. And just a couple of minutes away you will find Beaverton, a small lakeside village with plenty on offer. This unique property has something for everyone and will appeal to big families, history lovers and winter sports enthusiasts alike. |

Interior Details |
The log cabin has two completely self-contained areas, each with its own entrance, deck, kitchen/dining, living room, bathroom and bedroom. The golden warmth of the wood and logs throughout create a wonderful ambience, and the stone-surround propane fireplaces take care of cooler evenings in autumn and winter. There’s a pull-out couch in each of the living rooms so both parts of the cabin can accommodate four people. The three-bedroom cottage is separated from the cabin by a large parking area. A porch opens into a dining room, off which are the living area and spacious country kitchen, two of the bedrooms and a bathroom. All rooms are comfortably furnished and equipped. The master bedroom with en suite bathroom is off the kitchen; both have doors that open onto a deck. All the cottages have a selection of entertainments on offer, including a TV, DVD player and stereo.

Exterior Details |
Both cabin apartments and the cottage have decks from where you can sit and enjoy the scenery while the children paddle in the water. The waterfront is shallow for a long way out which makes this ideal for smaller children. Seating areas by the creek and colourful Muskoka chairs at the waterfront add to the outdoor experience, as does the firepit where the whole family can gather for campfires under the stars. A large garden offers lots of play space for children and is a perfect setting for evening meals al fresco. When you want to venture out onto the water, the cottages come complete with 3 kayaks, 2 canoes and a paddleboat, so everyone can enjoy messing around in boats. The original CNN railway line is close by and you will see and hear the occasional train, however since there are no public crossings in the vicinity, there’s no whistle!

Absolutely adorable cottage. Beautiful location at the end of the street in Beaverton. All amenities and the views are exquisite. Overall, a wonderful place to rest your weary mind at any point during the year. Thanks Tim and Kim!

Our family had a great week holiday at Journey's End. The cottages are immaculate, well equipped and modern. The beach was private and well equipped with all of the toys! The train is very close and did bring a sense of excitement to the children. A wonderful place to get away but still have all the amenities like home close by.
