This beautifully converted millhouse which dates back to the 1700s is an ideal base for a peaceful countryside break with family or friends.  Sleeping eight and with vast living spaces, the former grain mill sits on the banks of the River Glen.  Listen to the sound of running water right outside your door and enjoy exploring the surrounding area.

General Info

Within 1 mile are two gastro pubs, a shop and post office as well as a local butcher. Fishing in the river on a catch and return basis as well as use of the tennis court are included and for those wishing to bring their horses or ponies on holiday, paddocks and stables are available by arrangement with the owners, who live adjacent. Pets can also be left with the owner who has a registered home for boarding dogs.

Stamford is only 7 miles away - the home of Burghley International Horse Trials, Tallington Lakes and ski slope - Grimsthorpe Castle is also close by as well as the town of Bourne. Peterborough is approximately 30 minutes’ drive.  Nearby Baston, Lincolnshire, is a beautiful village lying on the edge of The Fens on the main A15 midway between Market Deeping in the South and Bourne in the North. The town of Peterborough lies ten miles to the south. A significant Roman feature of Baston is the Roman road leading across the fen towards Spalding. Part of the modern fen road follows it.  13 miles from Peterborough, 38 miles from Lincoln, 47 miles from Nottingham.

Interior Details

There are four spacious bedrooms, each with TV.  The Master bedroom has en suite facilities and there is also a large, luxurious family bathroom. The large ground floor bedroom is ideal for family members with limited mobility and has an en suite bathroom. The kitchen has all the modern facilities you would expect and is extremely well equipped. The living space at Fletland Mill is second to none with a large lounge area, a separate large reading area and the whole top floor is a dedicated recreational area which is great for larger families.

Exterior Details

There are fabulous views from every window at Fletland Mill and there's plenty of outside space as well. Outdoor facilities include a barbecue, tables and chairs for those lazy summer days. If you have any specific requests or needs just ask before the holiday and we will do our utmost to fulfil your wishes.

Further Details

The mill is ideally situated for Burghley Horse Trials which are less than 15 minutes away by car. The premier equestrian social event of the year takes place each September with over 600 trade stands, the event is almost as well known for its shopping as for its three day event. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Burghley House (Burghley House is open to the public all year round), the park will host some of the greatest international riders in a thrilling 4 star three day event.

Conditions of Rental

Arrival days at the Mill are a Friday and a Monday, it is available for weekends, mid-week breaks or 7 night stays as long as the arrival/departure day is a Friday or a Monday. If you require alternative dates please get in touch as we may be able to accommodate this from time to time (especially in the off season).  Dog owners are welcome at Fletland Mill and there are plenty of walks to chose from. We even have paddocks and stables available if you want to bring along your horse!
