A luxury wooden chalet built by the Swiss, for the Swiss, this one is the only one available for rent. It's the perfect place to chill out in after a hard day's skiing on the 350km of pistes all around. Or in summer enjoy meals on the beautiful terrace with truly unique views across the whole valley. The chalet is also perfectly situated for summer visitors. It faces south over the valley, offering sunshine that streams all day long through the living room and upstairs bedrooms. There is a large meadow opposite the chalet with a walk to Klosters Platz through alpine flowers. |

The chalet is literally on a ski mountain! Skating, curling, indoor and outdoor swimming all nearby, with beautiful forest walks for winter or summer. Hiking, sailing, paragliding, horse trekking, tennis, all very near. Kids' adventure playground and zoo nearby. Mountain bikes for hire locally. Several marked walks and hiking trails start behind and either side of the chalet as the chalet is at the bottom of the Madrisa mountain. In summer the mountain behind the chalet is carpeted in wild flowers, which leads straight to a pine forest. Klosters has put a lot of thought into offering many winter activities for the non-skier. The village is especially proud of its "winterwegs". These are 50km of especially prepared walks through the forests and mountains where the snow has been cleared sufficiently to allow walkers to the glorious countryside. Three mountains have exclusive toboggan runs exceeding 5km each. |

Getting There:
| Zurich or Friedrichshafen airports are both less than two hours. 35 minutes from a motorway. Two trains an hour. The nearest airport is Zurich. Zurich is served by all the major airlines, and very cheap deals can be found on the internet from Swiss and other airlines. A less well known low cost airline based in Zurich is Helvetic.com. Easyjet serve Basel, which is about one hour's drive or direct train from Zurich. It easy to get Chalet Rhaetia by car or train. |

The chalet has one double bedroom with en suite bathroom and three twin bedded rooms sharing a bathroom and an additional cloakroom. Everything is new, crisp sheets and fresh linen is always on tap. Traditional pine panelling in the bedrooms with antique prints offset with a blend of modern art and Swiss antiques in the living areas. Lots of room in the basement for skis, ski equipment and anything else! The kitchen is fully fitted and includes dishwasher and microwave as well as an eating area. The living area is furnished with comfy sofas and coffee tables. There is cable TV, DVD player, hi-fi stereo radio and CD player. The dining table can seat 10. The chalet has free broadband. There is a huge tiled cloakroom and ski and ski boot storage area and there is a utility room. There is a high chair and a travel cot.

Step through the living room French windows onto a lit patio and garden with views across the valley. The garden is fully equipped with sun loungers, outside table and chairs and sunshades. For summer and winter there is a garage and a reserved parking space.

Further Details |
For skiers, speed and ease of access to the slopes is all-important. The chalet is situated 5 minutes walk from the centre of Klosters Dorf, at the foot of the Madrisa mountain. There one finds the newly updated Madrisabahn bubble car. At the top is a choice of 20 runs ranging from beginners' slopes to the famously picturesque Schlappin black run. Klosters Dorf Railway Station is opposite Madrisa. Frequent trains and buses (both free with the ski pass) take skiers to the giant Gotschna/Parsenn ski area. With typical Swiss precision the trains are scheduled to take exactly 2mins to Klosters Platz where the cable car goes from! The bus takes 5 minutes. As well as buses from Madrisa and the Klosters Dorf Railway station, there is also a bus from a stop at the bottom of the chalet drive(about 50m) with buses to the Gotschna cable car, these buses are a little less frequent, at around 20 minute intervals. Food shops, ski hire, ski school, nearest mountain bubble car just 5 minutes' walk away. Train station also 5 minutes' walk, bus 50m away. No need to hire a car, just take train from Zurich - a big saving! Or milk/Swiss cheese/yoghourt available from farm 2 minutes' away. In summer there is a Nature Reserve behind the chalet and a large meadow just across the road. Both provide wonderful starts for hiking.

Conditions of Rental |
No smokers. No pets. 30% deposit then balance six weeks before departure. No extra hidden laundry/cleaning charges. Local tourist tax of CHF5pp per night has to be charged additionally by law. CHF 500 damage deposit.
