Fabulous. Thanks for a lovely week! David London Review Submitted: July 4, 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011 Just back from a lovely weeks stay with family, we all had a wonderful time, villa was everything you could ask for, beautiful building, fully equipped, in very quiet area - beautiful gardens and a lovely spacious setting, just a short (downhill) walk to the beach or into town. All rooms are maintained to a high standard, without sacrificing any of the beautiful character of the place. Thanks C & C, Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at villa Membrillo for a week in June and I can honestly say that after lots of villa holidays we have finally found the best!! From the moment you arrive you feel like you are in the lap of luxury. It is so well equipped and really thoughtfully furnished with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. We spent most of the time chilling out by the pool lazing around on the many sun loungers or dining alfresco using the great outdoor BBQ and Paella cooking stove. The local beach and town is just a 5 minute stroll down the hill and has loads of stylish bars and restaurants plus a great local market on Friday to stock up on all sorts of Spanish artifacts (plus the obligatory flamenco dress and castanets for the kids). The villa is spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained, we've already rebooked for next year!

We have been visiting Membrillo every year for the past 3 years and have already booked again for 2011. It is the perfect location for a family holiday and has everything we need. The finca is always clean, very well equipped, has a wonderful pool and is the perfect distance from the beach and the centre of Moraira. We always think it cannot get any better but every year the owners seem to find a way of making even more improvements!

This past summer my wife and I spent two weeks at El Membrillo with six other adult family members and three small children. Members of our group flew into Alicante from England, France and the US. Our rental cars, along with the detailed directions provided, made it easy and convenient to travel from the airport to this resort-like finca. I say "resort-like" because everything we needed was either right at the property or within walking distance. All the bedrooms were beautifully decorated, clean and air-conditioned. One opened onto a ground floor patio and two opened onto balconies. Having so many bathrooms and indoor/outdoor sitting areas added to the sense of spaciousness (which is something to think about when spending two weeks with both sets of your parents!). The kitchens were well equipped, and we used the BBQ lots of times. Another great feature was the outdoor shaded dining area as we enjoyed eating all of our meals outdoors. Again I say "resort-like" because it seems like we hardly left the property. We did some sightseeing, went to a few nice restaurants/cafes, went to the beach a few times. I had planned to get out much more, but the scene around the pool had a major gravitational affect that we couldn't seem to break free of. We spent hours every day just by the pool (or in it!). What a great feature. My Dad even went in! I was surprised by the quaintness of the town (Moraira). It was touristy, but still felt authentically Spanish at the same time. (I was worried there might be more high-rises and crowds.) Many of the cafes have sea views and were good for either sitting with a book or lunching with a group. My wife and I even got out alone (without our 18 month-old) for an evening to enjoy a nice fish dinner. The only negative I could mention would be that, although the pool is fenced off from the cottage area, it's not from the main section... which would be a bit of a worry for those like us with small children. I mentioned this to the owner who said that by the 2010 season the pool would be fully gated. (Note: It is now fully fenced and gated) I'd recommend this place to anyone needing this size facility, and I hope we can go back in two years. Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children I would rate this property 5 out of 5

We booked this villa to accommodate 10 friends and it was perfect. The bedrooms were all of an excellent size and the outside space was exactly what we needed. The town is 10 minutes walk away but the villa feels secluded and is quiet. I would definitely reccommend this villa.

What a lovely finca. We were a party of 6 and the accommodation was perfect. The kitchen was very well equipped. The pool was a good size and located in a sunny position - we often sat out by the pool until 8 pm. A small sandy beach was 10 minutes walk away where there were a couple of beach bars. The main town was 15 minutes walk down hill and full of good restaurants and another sandy beach which was a little more crowded. The owners provided all the information we needed even a welcome couple of bottles of cava when we arrived. We could not fault the service we were given.
Sue & Friends,  Wales,  Jun 2009

What struck us most about Membrillo was the personal touches in the house that meant it was obviously a well used and loved family holiday home. We were a family group of 10, holidaying to celebrate our parents 40th anniversary. We loved the space, the nooks and cranies of the garden, and the well equipped kitchens. It wasn't just the children who were never out of the pool and there was always a sun lounger with a glass of ice cold water from the fridge afterwards!! The location was quiet and peaceful and yet it was only a 15min walk to the beach and the town of Moraira with all the restaurants, bars and shops. We had the option to eat out in town or at the villa which had outside kitchen and bbq area. The owners couldn't have been more helpful prior to our stay sending information and directions. Our holiday was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. It made our parents special day even more special. We would definitely return. Thank you!

We thought the website details were very accurate which makes a change! The house was extremely well equipped, it was beautiful and full of character whilst you had brought it up to date sympathetically. It was one of the best properties we have stayed in, we enjoyed every moment of our time there.

We are back again! We keep this gem to ourselves! Love the new playroom, we spend hours with a Gin & Tonic and read, watching the children in the pool

The photos do not do this Finca justice. We had thought it was great when we booked but were even happier when we arrived. Having you Host meet us on arrival was perfect, she was so helpful. The owners are great to deal with as we had many questions due to our month long stay with 4 very small children. The level of equipment and facilities provided are beyond any normal rentals. We had a super time.
Katherine & Maura,  Canada,  May 2008

We have always rented each summer, properties for our group but this is the first one where we could actually prepare meals for 10 of us without having to wash-up between courses. It is superbly equipped, with plenty of serving platters, extra glasses, plates, serving bowls etc. Absolutely great, thanks.
Sally & Andrew,  Ashton,  Jul 2008

We found the website accurate and not misleading in any way - that's a first! We travel three or four times a year and this is the best place we have stayed and the property was fantastic. Being able to walk to the town and the restaurants is a boon, especially with the drink/drive laws now. The car only went out to do the big shop. We even used the "shopping trolley" to go to the market - a great idea!
