Banyoles itself features the Olympic lake which hosted the rowing events in 1992 and the lake is widely recognised not just for its beauty, but for its environmental significance – the house is just 2km from the lake. The lake apart, Banyoles’ town centre houses the origins of the medieval town itself. Built in the shade of the Sant Esteve Monastery, the town first took shape in the 9th century. Cobbled streets, little squares and cozy corners, civil and religious buildings, art and the water flowing through the canals from the lake all come together in a wonderful town centre. The house is walking distance from shops and restaurants, 35 km from the beach (Costa Brava), and 115km from Barcelona. Bicycle routes, horse riding, routes on foot, excursions with "Tren Pinxo", ballooning, adventure sports, Pla de l´Estany parties, the Costa Brava, the Pirineus... endless activities nearby... |

Getting There:
| If coming by road, take the AP-7 (E-15) motorway. Take the sixth exit for Banyoles. Then go for 9km. along the C-66. Finally, take the road which goes to Mata-Banyoles Sud (C-150a) and at the first traffic light that you come to, turn right. After nearly 100 metres you will find the house, situated at the left of the Mata´s church, near the prohibited direction road signal.

La Cabanya has got 2 ensuite bedrooms, a kitchen, a little study, a living room with television & DVD as well as a fireplace, plus air-conditioning and central heating. The climate of the Pla de l'estany region is typically Mediterranean, with the nearby coast giving nice temperatures throughout the year. During the spring you will see from 8ºC at night to 33ºC at the day (from 46ºF to 91ºF). Summers are pretty warm, from 15ºC to 35ºC (59ºF to 95ºF), while Autumn and winter both tend to be cooler with temperatures as low as 0ºC at their lowest.
