Competa is a white Andalucian village in the mountains, one hour from Malaga Airport.
No car is necessary as the village has all facilities and many excellent restaurants and bars for you to enjoy.There is a beautiful hotel pool open to all. The olive groves surround the village and are ideal for walks and picnics. Villa Conchi is an authentic town house in the centre of the village near the church tower. It is 4 storeys high and the top floor is a 50 square meter roof terrace with sunloungers, dining area, swing seat and outdoor kitchen.
The floor below the roof is a large kitchen/dining area with all modern facilities. There are two sitting rooms, one a traditional internal patio.
This house with its imposing exterior is more spacious than most village houses and has many large windows facing the street. The house is decorated in a Moorish style making the most of its original features of arches, tiled floors and juliet balconies. |

This Moorish town villa is centrally located and gives you the opportunity to experience a real white village at first hand. This is the real Spain and is totally different from the modern sprawl on the coast. Enjoy the fabulous views to the sea over the olive orange and avocado groves. The mountains are located behind the village and the unusual baroque church tower can be seen across the flat roofs. It is a short walk to the two local swimming pools, restaurants and shops. You do not need a car for this property as you can travel from the airport to the village by taxi. All facilities are provided locally. The Competa area in general is well developed in providing tourist facilities for horse riding, walking/hiking and mountain biking. The quality of the mountain and seascape scenery as well as the "away from it all" feeling, makes for a truly relaxing experience. |

Getting There:
| Today there are lots of flights from all over the British Isles and Northern Europe going to Malaga AGP, which is your closest major airport to Competa. Once you arrive it's a 70 minute drive by hire car or taxi to your final destination. Remember if you can't get the flight you want to Malaga, try Granada, it's about a two hours drive away. This is better than it sounds as it is a small airport and you will easily save 20 minutes in collecting baggage and your hire car! |

Villa Conchi has been sympathetically restored over the last few years to give you a characterful holiday home. This four bedroomed town villa has 3 floors with a bathroom on each level. There are two sitting rooms and a large dining kitchen. The large open plan kitchen and dining area is situated on the floor below the roof terrace with airy 4 metre+ ceilings. You will find this extremely convenient for food preparation and alfresco eating on the roof terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern units, five burner gas hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer and extra drinks fridge. There is a kettle, toaster, coffee maker and juicer as well as a belfast enamelled sink with teak surround. The dining area will seat up to eight and there is also a sofa for use when chatting to the cook! The room has two large juliet balconies, looking out over the village.There are 3 double bedrooms, 1 triple room and 1 single.

From the large 55 square metre sun terrace, your views over the village, mountains, church tower and Mediterranean sea are superb. Situated to benefit from the rising sun in the morning right through to the setting sun in the evening many guests have said the roof terrace is the "jewel in the crown." A great place for alfresco dining day and night. The roof terrace has an outdoor kitchen with gas BBQ, and sink, dining tables and chairs which make eating on the roof during the day and night a great experience. As it can get really hot, we have provided a large cane pergola, and hexagonal awning to provide you with the necessary shade. Other terrace furniture consists of a large swing seat, and four sun loungers. The roof can be lit up at night with low level lighting and fairy lights for atmosphere and stronger lighting is available for cooking and eating. As with all houses in Competa the property is painted white.

The home of a sea captain it is larger and grander than many village houses. For this reason it has impressive wooden main doors and many balcony windows to the front of the property. Villa Conchi is found on a quiet street with it's own small plaza with flowering plants and shrubs in front of it. it is about 150 metres from the church and main square, thereby centrally located for all amenities. More importantly for older folks it is on the same level as these amenities because the village is built on the mountainside.

It is an historic house with thick walls which was warm when we visited in late October. The roof terrace is large with excellent alfreco dining facilities and sunbathing areas.
