Ronda, known to locals as the 'The City of Dreams', has a fascinating history and is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Spain. The newer part of town is a bustling area of small shops, bars and restaurants and the site of Andalucia's most famous plaza de toros. To the east of the town is the pristine Sierra de la Nieves national park, recently declared a Unesco Biosphere Reserve and just ten minutes to the west is the Grazalema Park, home to some of the most diverse flora and fauna in Spain. A series of traditional ‘Pueblos Blancos’ (white villages) are all within easy driving distance. The walking and birdwatching here are amongst the best in Europe. The nearest beach is at San Pedro, less than an hour away whilst the unspoilt beaches of the Atlantic coast can be reached in a little under two hours. This is a superb location from which to explore from a villa in Andalucia. |

Further Details |
The Estate is just five minutes west of Ronda, on a quiet country lane, in the beautiful Llano de la Cruz valley. To one side of the estate are spectacular views of the Sierra de Ronda and to the other a beautiful vista of fertile, undulating farmland. Celts, Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs all passed through this area which was eventually re-conquered from the Moors by the Catholic Monarchs. The oldest part of the town of Ronda, the original citadel fortress of the Moors, lies to the east of gorge, a labyrinth of winding streets with ancient mansion houses, churches and enchanting little squares. This ancient hill town straddles the extraordinary Tajo, a narrow gorge that plunges to a depth of more than 150 metres. There are breathtaking vistas from many of the bars and restaurants out across the gorge to the surrounding mountains. If you're in search of an idyllic villa in Andalucia, this is the place!

What visitors have said about Los Olivos |
| |
| |
A wonderful setting and an excellent host, combines to create a highly recommended holiday in a beautiful part of Spain. We will definitely come back again.
Jon & Tracy Clarke, UK, Aug 2008

We (a party of three couples) stayed at Los Olivos in January 2010. We found the house to be the most comfortable self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in.
There was a lovely homely atmosphere and an extremely well equipped kitchen. Caro was a very helpful and friendly host without being in the least intrusive.
I have no hesitation in recommendng Los Olivos as the place to stay near the very beautiful Ronda.

We have stayed in both Los Olivos and La Cancela and love them both equally. Caro is a brilliant host and always in the background making sure your stay is perfect. We will certainly be returning for a fifth visit!!

Los Olivos, a perfect place in the hills outside Ronda. Beautifully equipped with everything you could need and more. The gardens and pool providing a wonderful place to relax and spend time with family or friends, plus Caro is next door to help you with anything you need. If anyone wishes to find a haven to rest in, while exploring the stunning scenery in the mountains beyond Ronda, this is the place.
Sheila Craft and family, Wales, UK, Jul 2010

This our third visit to Ronda was by far the most enjoyable, due to the quality of both La Cancela and Los Olivos. The warm, homely atmosphere set in such tranquil settings was an absolute delight. Caro was always on hand to assist whenever required, but never obtrusive in any way at all. We can thoroughly recommend both villas in every way and look forward to returning as soon as we are able.
David & Patricia Oliver and family, Hastings, East Sussex, Oct 2010

We have stayed as a family in villa's in Tuscany, Provence and the Cotswolds, but none of those impressed us as much as Finca Maridadi. This has been the first house where we have been inclined to stay put and have wine and cheese on the patio, rather then venture off to nearby villages. The location has been impeccable since we are only a short way to the main strip and all that Ronda has to offer. Overall, we give this serene paradise two thumbs up and a strong recommendation.
