  General Info
This tranquil villa in Andalucia offers comfortable and spacious family accommodation. It is on a south facing hillside 3kms from the pretty whitewashed village of Riogordo. This small and unspoilt area of Andalucia –to the north east of Malaga - is still a well kept secret. Untouched by mass tourism, and surrounded by National Parks it is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty between the Sea and Sierras. The property has been lovingly restored in traditional "Tipico" style, keeping all the original features, and using only traditional materials in order to preserve its unique ambience. Ceilings are all beamed with eucalyptus poles, and floors have either handmade terracotta tiles or the original stone, whilst all the windows have wooden shutters. The old mill, which adjoins the living accommodation, still contains the millstones and olive press.

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
This is a wonderful area for those who enjoy walking through glorious countryside, bird watching and painting etc., or if you like the idea of exploring on horseback, trekking is now available locally. There are tracks and goat paths all around and several National Parks within easy reach. The spring flowers are world renowned, and spring and autumn also sees the arrival of migrating birds on their way to and from Africa, including many eagles and birds of prey. The beaches are wide, clean and mostly uncrowded. All along the coast you will find little beachside restaurants known as "chiringuitos" where fresh sardines are grilled over olive-wood fires, and in the Nerja area there are many small rocky coves offering superb snorkelling. There is also a scuba diving school and all other water sports. There are several country bar/restaurants nearby, and the pleasant seaside resort of Torre-del-Mar is only a 25 minute drive and offers all facilities and shops.

What visitors have said about La Molina del Olivar

"La Molina del Olivar was exactly what we needed. A beautiful and peaceful location in the hills where we were able to just sit back and relax, the pool was idyllic and a wonderful traditional unspoilt villa. We whiled away countless evenings with a glass of wine and food on the BBQ in anticipation of another carefree day in the hills..."
Mrs.S.Charrington,  London.U.K.,  Sep 2011

Thank you for letting us have the use of your lovely house again. It was great to return, and lovely to be there at a different time of the year. We enjoyed the Easter celebrations in the village, and all the spring flowers. The girls did use the pool, but would like to visit another time when perhaps the weather is warmer for swimming! Altogether, a most enjoyable holiday.

"Relaxing beyond imagination" One of the most relaxing and interesting properties we can ever remember staying in. The conversion has been done very professionaly, and obviously with much love and care which is a great credit to you.........Finally, thank you again for a wonderful relaxing stay with a lovely pool. (We went"skinny dipping" for the first time in our lives, the seclusion was so perfect!)
Mr. & Mrs. T. T.,  Hayling Island, Hampshire,  Jun 2009

Just got back a couple of hours ago. What a wonderful place you have, so peaceful and beautiful, We started the week overworked and very frazzled, but have returned completely relaxed - it's that sort of place! We're delighted to have found such a gem, thank you for sharing such a great place with us!
Mr & Mrs B. P.,  Somerset,  Sep 2009

We highly recommend this villa. We have stayed here at least 3 times and keep returning for more! The owners are very friendly and helpful, the location is a fantastic escape, with 360 degree views of mountains and beautiful countryside, although if you want the beach and town, they are only a 20 minute drive away. The accommodation is lovely and we hold many special memories of sunbathing by the large clean pool.
Simon and family,  Dorset.U.K.,  Aug 2008

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home. La Molina is such a beautiful place and we really fell in love with her, and the surroundings. We enjoyed the charming character and the way you have restored the house. The weather was hot, so we all enjoyed making full use of the lovely pool, and eating out under the stars in the evening. We would love to come again.
Mr. & Mrs.M.G.,  Konigstein, Germany,  Jul 2008

La Molina is a gem. Bautifully restored (keeping a lot of the original features), with a lovely garden and pool and beautifull views. Well maintained, clean and comfortable, and Tony and Heather were most helpful. It's location is off the beaten track, so the house is very peaceful and private, but it's only 10 mins. drive to Riogordo for a reasonable selection of shops and bars. We so enjoyed our week in Aug,2008, we have booked a 2 week return this year.
Mr.&Mrs.JD.,  Somerset. U.K.,  Aug 2008

We have had a wonderful holiday at your house. It certainly is in a splendid location, Lovely countryside and very peaceful. We made full use of the lovely swimming pool and shady areas, and bathed ourselves in the tranquility of the location! The house itself was one of the best we have ever stayed in, and it will certainly be added to our 'places to visit again' list.
Mrs JT,  Chester, UK,  Jul 2007

We had a wonderful holiday, and found La Molina the perfect place to relax. The house and grounds are lovely and the pool fantastic. Hopefully we'll be back soon.
Mrs SH,  East Lothian, UK,  Aug 2007
