Set in the tranquil hills and olive groves of rural Andalucia near the lovely lake Iznajar, El Molino del Conde is a large country house where all generations can enjoy family holidays or celebrate Christmas, special birthdays and anniversaries in the sun. (We can sleep 8, 14, 18+)
El Molino del Conde also provides a peaceful and inspiring venue for courses - which have recently included Creative Writing, Watercolour Painting and Pilates.
El Molino del Conde has been lovingly restored to retain all the character of the big old mill house and ensure a high level of comfort. There are high beamed ceilings, comfortable bedrooms and large luxurious bathrooms. The big main kitchen is designed to make your self-catering holiday easier if you are a large group with restaurant-grade cooker, big fridge and a dishwasher - and there is a further family kitchen too. |

By car, El Molino is 45 minutes north of Malaga, 45 minutes west of Granada and only 5 minutes from Lake Iznajar. Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, the sea and the mountains are all easy to get to if you want some culture and excellent restaurants. Closer to home you can walk up the valley between the olive groves to buy fresh vegetables from the local market in Villanueva de Tapia or visit the local hilltop village of Iznajar with its ruined Moorish Alcazaba and the church of Santiago set above the large lake of the Embalse de Iznajar. The riding stables and school at Cortijo las Minas are just 10 minutes from El Molino in lovely rolling countryside full of Mediterranean oaks. There is a walking pack at the property which includes maps and route notes for surrounding walks and cycle rides (we can help with arranging bike hire). The surrounding area is full of golf courses, both coastal and inland, all within an easy drive of your villa in Andalucia. |

Outside this villa in Andalucia, you'll find fresh eggs from the chickens, fresh herbs from the kitchen garden, pomegranate, fig and almond trees, sun terraces, private swimming pool, large shaded dining areas, picnic spots next to the stream, a vine-covered courtyard and large grounds where children can run around safely.
New for 2011 is a multi-sports court in the gardens - a 3/4 size tennis court also suitable for badminton and volleyball.

A fantastic privilege. I'd seen pictures on the El Molino website when it was first booked, and I was excited, but nothing prepared me for what I found on my arrival. Spectacular is the word that jumps to mind. It was the first family holiday I'd had in years, 23 of us from young babies to a not so young grandma (who was way better on the cricket field than I was). The house was full of nooks and crannies where quiet times could be had, but the pool and outside dining area is where we had the most fun. Everybody's need was catered for but there was never any sense that we were getting under each other's feet. I felt like I'd been invited to stay by friends. The owners, Nick and Amanda were there on hand to advise on all issues and clued us in to what was happening in the village. They supplied us with everything we needed. I can't recommend this house enough.

Simply amazing. El Molino del Conde completely surpassed all expectations and was the perfect place for a large family of 17 adults and 8 children. The bedrooms were accurately described and were perfect for everyone. It was a very relaxing place to stay in and Nick and Amanda were such fun and so kind. We all loved it.

Wonderfully relaxing. We spent a friends 40th birthday at El Molino and had a wonderful time. The owners Nick & Amanda could not have been more gracious and accommodating. The enchanting setting is wonderfully private and serene. I would recommend El Molino without hesitation.

I cannot tell you how delighted we all were with El Molino! The property gave us everything we wanted and enabled twenty-two people, young and old, to thoroughly enjoy a few days in such a lovely part of Spain. You have been extremely clever in organising the house so that so many people can enjoy themselves without falling over each other and, as always, what matters most is that basics of heat and light when you want them and El Molino has these in abundance.

Already wishing we were back in sunny Spain. We really enjoyed your fabulous corner of Andalucia and found the amenities and level of comfort at El Molino excellent.
