General Info |
|
| |
This large, new property is located on a gently sloping, 3 acre olive grove. It is beautiful inside and out, with a gorgeous roof terrace and lower terrace that have views of the Sierra de Grazalema and Ronda. You can relax by the swimming pool, read a book from the villa's extensive library or tone up in the gym; this is undoubtedly a very comfortable house with daily maid service included. The house is beautifully designed, well thought out and constructed to a high standard. The villa was built in elegant Andalucian style with marble floors, under floor central heating, antique Spanish doors and high, sloped ceilings. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan for warmer weather. The proprietors own a well-known Spanish restaurant in Manhattan, so the ability to entertain and to enjoy fine cooking and dining were primary goals taken into consideration when this villa was designed. |

What visitors have said about El Cobijo |

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The children learned to swim there. We had a peaceful experience. We miss the early morning coolness on the terrace with the roosters crowing and the the rural life noises all around to the late sunsets mulling over fine wine and sangria. The villa was a wonderful setting for our families to meet from various parts of the world to come together and enjoy good family quality time. The Villa was kept in good order and we were well looked after. Great warmth and hospitality received. We will be definitely recommeding this villa to our friends and family, and hopefully we can return in the near future.

The fantastically well-equipped kitchen, the sheer amount of space, and the fabulous view from the large terrace are just some of the factors that made El Cobijo one of the easiest, most comfortable and most enjoyable houses I have spent a holiday in. Easy to reach (by car) from Ronda, with Arriate a nice walk for provisions, it is in a great spot. A car is a necessity, not least for the amazing places to be visited within relatively short drives.

The property was magnificant and had some woderful features that made our stay most enjoyable. It was a place where you could relax and have quality time with the family. We were able to do day excursions and also just relax around the pool in the afternoon/evening. There service was great. This was our first trip to Spain and it will be most remembered. We loved the spacious but yet intimate aspects of this warm home.

My family loved our stay in your beautiful home. If I had to choose a few words that describe the property, your home and surrounding countryside...I would choose lovely...warm...tranquil...relaxing...fun...breathtaking... Our favorite spots to hang out and enjoy life were at the pool, in the kitchen and on the terrace...all of which provided a view of the garden, olive trees and the distant fields and hills. We loved the funny bray of the burro, the sound of a cow bell coming from somewhere beyond the trees as we imagined a rancher on his horse followed by his animals, the call of the rooster and how the dogs talked to each other at night...and speaking of night...the stars were amazing. We enjoyed walking around Rhonda...what a cool town...that you could get lost in :) ...but you would not care because it was filled with wonderful sights and sounds. The feeling you get while standing on the bridge and looking down into the massive gulch is indescribable. We also had fun exploring the Cueva de la pileta. We recommend your home to friends and family and enjoy reminiscing about our vacation in Spain. Thank you for sharing your home.

From the time I made the reservation with owner Raynold for his villa in Ronda to our parting moment, we had a wonderful experience at El Cobijo. Raynold lived up to every promise made in his communications with us. To make us comfortable with the house and surrounds, he met the 8 of us on our check-in day to show us around the house and then took us to Ronda to introduce us to the shopping and restaurant offerings. The accomodations were exceptionally comfortable for 4 couples. We enjoyed fires on the cooler, ranier days while on warmer days the porch was a fabulous haven with views across the countryside. The kitchen was also a delightful spot for us to gather each morning for coffee and breakfast before setting out on our daily touring in the white villages. We often prepared our own 'happy hour fare' or even on occassion prepared a full dinner meal. Everything one would need to prepare food was available to us. Each day, the housekeeper came in to freshen up the bathrooms and beds and in the event we didn't know how to work something, the maintenance man was readily available to inform us. Of the three weeks we spent in Spain and Portugal, our fondest memories are of the week we had at El Cobijo and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the tiny villages of Andalusia while enjoying all the comforts of home.
