The Finca stands in a valley of its own surrounded by olive groves, guaranteeing unique privacy. With local amenities close by it is a perfect holiday destination. In the heart of Andalucia Finca el Almendrillo is perfectly located for visiting Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba and within easy reach of airports and the Costa del Sol. With 9 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms (4 are ensuites), 3 living rooms and 3 kitchens Finca el Almendrillo accommodates groups of 20 in splendour and comfort. Smaller groups can enjoy the Farmhouse only (6/7 bedrooms & 5 bathrooms, 3 are en suites). The 150 year-old farm was built in the historic Andalucian "Cortijo" style with farmhouse, barn and stables arranged around a cobbled courtyard. Now modernised and solar powered, the Cortijo stands at the centre of the 5000 square metre Finca. Commanding astounding views over the valley to the south and of the Sierra Nevada to the east, Finca el Almendrillo is exceptional. |

Horseriding (15 minutes drive) and tennis (25 minutes drive) available locally. The ancient cobbled streets of Iznajar, its romantic Moorish palace and beautiful lake are just 20 minutes away. Further north of Iznajar is the Sierra Subbeticas Natural Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. A bit further afield, Torcal is 40 minutes and has some awe inspiring rock formations. Granada is just 60km from the Finca and a visit to the Alhambra is a must. If you've been, go again. You've forgotten how beautiful it is. Take someone you love. Granada is beautiful and would be without the Alhambra. A round trip to Granada can take in the romantic Alpujarras mountains. The Sierra Nevada is a two hour drive and is spectacular all year round. You can get to the sea at Malaga in one hour. Seville and Cordoba are also great day trips, if a little further afield (1.5 – 2 hours drive). |

The Finca is made up of two properties, a 150 year old farmhouse sleeping 14, and a smaller ‘casita’, sleeping 4-6. The farmhouse has seven bedrooms (three en-suite), two further bathrooms, two living rooms and a spacious well equipped kitchen / dining area. The Gran Sala (larger of the two living rooms) is on the top floor and has doors opening onto a beautiful balcony with views of the valley. This room can be transformed to create an additional bedroom should you need it. The Casita has two bedrooms (one double and one twin), with the option of a third bedroom (en-suite) should you need it. The Casita has a spiral staircase and mezzanine gallery with views to the valley. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the living / dining room is spacious (8m x 7m) and comfortable. Both houses have TV with video / DVD player, CD player and radio (bring your own DVD’s / CD’s).

With access to over 5000 sqm of rural farmland, you will not be short of places to explore! Enjoy balmy nights eating on one of the Farmhouse's two balconies and tranquil days in one of the many shady spots found in the garden, where you can enjoy views of the valley and the Sierra Nevada. Relax by the 17 metre pool and watch the sun slip over the valley. Luxurious terraces give majestic views over the valley to the south and are fully equipped with loungers, poolside furniture and terrace shower and WC. The 8 metre long pergola offers shade by the pool throughout the day. Each property also has a private garden and terrace. After the sun has set enjoy balmy evenings with a cold beer or glass of wine over a game of pool, table tennis or table football in the games room.

The nearest shop and bar/restaurant are in the village of Fuente del Conde reached by a country lane which winds down into the valley from your hilltop retreat (1.8km). Five minutes by car, 20 minutes to walk down, 30-40 minutes back up! Pack a picnic, grab a mountain bike from the courtyard and set off into the morning. Antonio’s Bar in Fuente del Conde is just a 20 minute walk back over the hill and down into the next valley. Half way on the walk to Antonio’s is a goat farm, where visitors are welcome. Within easy reach of the Finca there are numerous excellent restaurants. Children of all ages will adore splashing around in the pool, chasing cats in hidden corners of the Finca or rambling after butterflies further afield in the surrounding olive groves. The pool has shallow (90cm) and deep (2m) ends and roman steps at the shallow end for paddling. The pool is located at the western extremity of The Finca, a minute’s walk from the house, and is fenced off. There are mountain bikes to fit most sizes and toddlers tricycles. Located in an independent space off the central courtyard is a third kitchen with cooker and one metre BBQ. This kitchen will be used by caterers if requested ensuring you remain undisturbed while food is being prepared.

Booking secured by payment of non-returnable deposit. Remainder due 2 calendar months before the beginning of your holiday, along with a fully returnable breakages deposit. Price includes welcome pack (with basics such as coffee, milk, toast, olive oil, pasta and sauce, wine). High chair, baby bath, travel cot, stairgates, hand held blender and nappy bin are all available on request. Furniture for toddlers, toys and books will be provided on request. Bathroom and pool towels are provided but not beach towels. There is a mid-stay clean complete with change of linen and towels for guests staying for two weeks or more. The following can be arranged (for an additional fee): complementary and beauty treatments, on site catering, babysitting, daily clean / dishwashing service, Spanish classes.

At the Finca you could ask for nothing more, the farmhouse is full of character and the views truly breathtaking. The kids had hours of endless fun in the huge swimming pool while we just sat back and took in the view...If you want to chill out and relax there is no better place.

We spent 2 weeks at Almendrillo in June this year and we had what I can only call “The Holiday of a Lifetime!” There were 16 in our group, 10 adults and 6 kids (15-4). It was absolutely perfect for us. The house is really big with well furnished spacious rooms and a real homely feel. The courtyard was perfect for family meals in the evening. The pool is big and safe, we spent many an hour chilling out watching the kids enjoy the pool. The view from the house is second to none..miles and miles of olive trees, hills and the occasional farmhouse. I had the pleasure of horse riding over that terrain and it was amazing. We went for walks through the hills also with a rewarding dip to finish! There was loads to do for everyone between bikes, table tennis, climbing trees and excellent day trips. Granada, the Torcal, Cordoba, Antequera..all well worth a visit. We didn’t bother with the coast as the pool was so good. I would thoroughly recommend the house for a few families or a large group of friends. It was an absolute privilege to spend time there!

Thank you for the amazing retreat for our family holiday, we haven't ever seen so many members of the family so relaxed and happy at any one time before. The location and ambiance of the Finca is so relaxing, completely away from it all surrounded by lovely countryside which is fantastic for walking. With so many seating areas, balconies and hidden corners it was easy for everyone to find peace and quiet on their own if needed, or enjoy spending time with the whole family around one of your huge tables eating, drinking and talking until the early hours. All the children (and adults!) have come home wanting to stay forever and we all agree that it would be a special place to come back and enjoy again and again. We all especially loved the huge pool which is big enough to swim a few lengths and have all the kids splashing around. We also enjoyed the pool table and football table on which we hosted a family football tournament. The views speak for themselves but have to be seen to be believed, especially in the evening - we've never seen so many stars in the night sky. We must also thank Elena for her wonderful menu for our wedding celebration, her food would be at home in any of the best restaurants in London, New York or Hong Kong. Finally, we would like to thank you for the for all the effort you have put in to making the Finca such a special place to stay
