The floor of this Andalucian house is made from handcrafted clay tiles, in a style that has been used for centuries in this part of the world. The entire house has solid wood reclaimed doors and double glazed wooden windows with ‘tilt and turn’ opening system. There are two double bedrooms, one twin-bedded room and two bathrooms. The large salon/dining room is filled with antiques and has stunning mountains views. Casa Mesto is ideal for a group of up to six people. The house also features two terraces as well as an "infinity" swimming pool and a lawn area for children to play on. The bathrooms, like the rest of the house, are fitted to a very high standard with hand-painted tiles from Seville and quality taps, sinks and showers. |

The house is set in the mountains of the Valle de Genal natural park, 18km south of Ronda. It feels wonderfully isolated, yet it is only 2km from the shops, tapas bars and restaurants of two lovely white villages, Cartajima and Juzcar. Juzcar is only a five minute drive away and has plenty to offer visitors in the way of useful shops and mouthwatering cuisine. Welcome to the 'real' Andalucia. |

The owner has filled the house with antiques and furniture that belonged to her grandmother and great-grandmother. The salon has a locally handcrafted wooden table, a fireplace and large windows with spectacular mountain views. The doors separating the salon from the bedroom hallway were reclaimed from an old bakery in the heart of the Moorish pueblo of Ronda. The dining table seats 8 and is conveniently near the kitchen - enjoy a glass of wine while gazing at the village of Parauta. The master bedroom has an antique double bed, a dresser, a wardrobe, a working fireplace and more wonderful views. The wardrobe and dresser date back to the late 19th century. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, decorated in Moorish style with an antique headboard, and two bedside lamps on dimmer switches. The headboard is a reclaimed wooden door from the early 19th century. Bedroom 3 is ideal for children, and it has a large built-in wardrobe, and, like the rest of the house, beautiful terracotta floors.

The pool measures 8 by 4 metres and has an open lawn for sunbathing or an area shaded by large oak trees. Guests relaxing on the shaded terrace can keep an eye on children in the pool which is only a few metres away. The infinity pool has wonderful views of the national park, the white village of Parauta and the mountains. The shaded terrace, which has a door to the salon, is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a tapa while taking in the breath-taking landscape in front of you. The fenced garden area, which runs the length of the house, is next to the terrace and is a perfect space for children to play. The village of Parauta can be viewed from the pool, terraces, gardens, salon, large bathroom, and master bedroom.

The house is perfect for elderly or less able guests. The interior is all on one level and there are no steps between rooms. There is also wheelchair/level access to the covered terrace at the side of the house. The kitchen is spacious and equipped with electric hob/oven, toaster, coffee maker, full-sized fridge-freezer, washing machine, granite work surfaces, and a table with four chairs. The owner, Aniela Orozco, is a native of Ronda, speaks English and has been welcoming guests to her houses (she has 4 others in the area) for over ten years. All linen and bath towels are provided and the properties are cleaned once a week.

Rental |
In high season the change-over day must be on Sunday. To reserve the Casa you need to send, by bank transfer, 50% of the total fee. The remaining 50% of the rental will be due, in cash, on the day of your arrival at Casa Mesto. The pool is open from April to November. The deposit is 150€ in cash.
