Durness lies in the county of Sutherland on the North West tip of Great Britain. The wild, remote and beautiful expanse of Cape Wrath enjoys one of the most dramatic landscapes in Europe. An abundance of wildlife and vast open space create an overwhelming experience. The village of Durness is surrounded by some of the best walking locations in the world and an endlessly fascinating environment, made for exploring.
A combination of spectacular natural features, not least the stunning coastline of towering cliffs, golden beaches backed by rugged mountains and expansive moorland have ensured our region boasts a well deserved reputation as a walkers' paradise. On any given day, you may find yourself strolling along sandy beaches, spotting whales and puffins from our epic cliffs or even paying a visit to the ghost of the bearded sailor at Sandwood Bay. |

Constructed from honey-coloured stone and benefiting from a south-facing aspect, these properties strike the ideal balance between spaciousness and intimacy. A substantial 7ft feather-topped bed made of lacquered steel and leather is the centre piece of each bedroom. The unique design is complimented throughout by a range of specially commissioned fixtures and fittings. Adjacent to the bedroom, the bathroom area has a walk-in double shower lined with polished Caithness stone. Each cottage has two baths – both designed to accommodate two people – one of which is outdoors on the secluded patio area overlooking the sea. The lounge and dining areas include beautifully upholstered furniture and floor coverings in world-famous Anta tweed and specially commissioned dining tables. Effortlessly combining traditional and contemporary, the cottages offer a wood-burning stove, a state-of-the-art home entertainment system and Wi-Fi, and the kitchens provide everything you could need.

Exterior Details |
Experience the elemental power of an ancient landscape and enjoy uninterrupted views of sea loch and mountain. Outside, the patio has been protected and hand finished in Caithness stone, an ideal place to relax and unwind on handmade furniture. Enjoy the oversized outside solar tub - the water is piping hot and completely heated from solar power - no nasty chemicals, just fresh solar-heated water each time, allowing you to enjoy bathing outdoors responsibly. It is truly fantastic to sit in this deep, hot bath, on the loch, secluded under the stars with a glass of bubbly. This is a great place to relax and watch the stars or maybe, if you're lucky, even the northern lights. It doesn't get much better than this.
