Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK has a wide variety of activities to enjoy - there's something for everyone. Nevis Range is a year round tourist destination with skiing in the winter months, plenty of tracks for mountain biking and walking. Visit Glen Nevis, famous for its natural beauty where Braveheart and Rob Roy were filmed. Enjoy a trip down Loch Linnhe to Seal Island to observe a colony of seals in their home environment or take wildlife/historical cruises from Glenfinnan and Acharacle on beautiful Loch Shiel. For those interested in castles, there are the ruins of old Inverlochy Castle. Glenfinnan itself is well worth a visit. There is a variety of outdoor activities including mountain biking, canyoning, climbing, paintballing, karting and 4x 4 offroading. There is also plenty to do in the area when the weather is inclement (as it occasionally is...) – from museums and indoor ice climbing to steam trains and distilleries! |
