With its secluded countryside location in an area of Portugal’s protected forestry, Tipi Algarve is perfectly situated for a glamorous camping holiday. Guests can stay in one of the stunning and spacious North American Tipis or a traditional Western Yurt, all of which are stylishly furnished. Alternatively, there are Safari Tents which are perfect for couples or families with one child and also, a self-contained Studio Apartment with a private roof terrace. There is a quiet secluded area for couples wanting a romantic getaway and for those seeking a healing retreat you may wish to take advantage of the complementary therapies available on site. Within 15 minutes of the peace and tranquillity of this eco-retreat enjoy the sunshine coast of Southern Portugal with a great choice of superb beaches and the bustling port town of Portimão. |

Enjoy the convenience of some of the best and most picturesque beaches to be found in Europe with golden sands and azure waters. Long sandy bays provide 'breathing space', even in the height of summer, and discover secluded rocky coves that dot this spectacular and beautiful coastline with it’s calm waters so perfect for families with children. Alternatively, if you feel like getting active there are Waterparks, Theme Parks, Zoos, Karting, Water Sports, Boat Trips, Excursions, Surfing, Horse Riding, Bike Hire, Walking and Hiking, plus many of Europe's finest golf courses.
For a perfect retreat from the busy coast take the journey into the hills through green & wooded mountain ranges of cork, chestnut and eucalyptus and enjoy the spectacular views. You will find restaurants, cafes and traditional shops offering a wide variety of local crafts, pottery and souvenirs. Tucked away is Caldas de Monchique a village renowned for its hot springs.

| Tipi Algarve is a hidden treasure tucked away in a secret valley location with no signs - we like to keep it this way so our guests can feel safe & secure without intrusion. The only people who are ever welcome here are our guests, friends and family. With this in mind, we only ever hand out directions when a booking is confirmed.
All major airlines operate a regular service to Faro Airport which is approximately 45 minutes from Tip Algarve by road with the new motorway link. There are local companies who offer reasonably priced transfers to and from Faro although, hiring a car is recommended in order to take advantage of the local area and facilities. It is possible to catch a train from London to Portimao. This takes around 24hrs. From Portimao you can get a bus or a taxi to Tipi Algarve.

There are two 7.5 metre & two 5 metre North American Tipis, a 6 metre Western Yurt and three 6 metre Safari Tents (group Double 2 x 6 m safari tents) and one 7 metre large Safari tent set up in the valley with plenty of space between them. Inside there is a comfy double bed complete with freshly laundered bedding, cushions, lamps plus a power supply socket. The Yurt also has the option of an open crown to view the stars and a cosy woodburning stove if it turns chilly. Extra beds and bedding can be provided for more guests upon request at time of booking and bath/beach towels are available on arrival at a cost of 5 euros. Each unit has its own private camp kitchen/dining area with fridge, gas rings, cooking utensils, pots & pans, crockery & cutlery, tables & chairs and hammock.
The shower/toilet block draws water directly from a natural well and the normal flushing toilets operate on an ecologically friendly reed bed system. The water is kept hot by a simple solar system in the summer

Tipi Algarve is self-catering so you will have your own individual private shaded camp kitchen by your Tipi, Yurt or Safari Tent. This includes a 2-3-4 gas ring hob, a cool box, a shaded seating area, storage for food, lighting and all the cooking equipment you need (even tea towels) to enjoy alfresco dining! In addition there is a communal lounge and sun terrace , a sociable and great place to enjoy a peaceful and welcome drink at the end of the day. There is a table football and pool table and plenty of card and board games to amuse the kids and a free selection of books to read. There is a zen pond of Koi carp fish, ducks & chickens, and an outdoor Yoga temple free to use with free yoga mats. Yoga classes on request. Guests are free to use the swimming pool with shaded sunbathing terrace with sunbeds and hammocks. Lighting on site is ‘natural’ and soolar powered although each tent has bed side lights so remember to bring a torch!

For those who feel they would like to take time for relaxation and mediation in the Yoga temple or replenishment and self-development, various Holistic Therapies are offered on site from a fully qualified and experienced practitioner such as Swedish Massage, Ayurveda Massage, Indian Head Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, No Hands Massage, Chakra balancing, Crystal Healing, Reiki, Spiritual Healing and Hopi Ear Candling .

Rental |
You will be required to pay the full amount of your holiday when booking and the check in times are 2:00pm and checkout times are 10:00am unless, a prior arrangement has been made. Upon arrival a security deposit is required of 150 cash, payable in either Sterling or Euros. Providing there are no breakages or damage to Property or equipment belonging to Tipi Algarve, these monies will be returned to you in full on your day of departure. In the unfortunate event of the cancellation of the holiday, for whatever reason, there will be no refund.
There is a minimum of 3 nights booking from 1st April - 31st July and 1st September - 30th November. During the month of August there is a minimum of 7 nights booking.
Children under 12yrs stay for free.

It’s everything we expected and much more! There is a lot of heart and soul here and such a nice, natural vibe. We have so enjoyed the whole experience… lovely Tipis and space for privacy and also to mingle with like-minded folk. It’s great to visit the nearby beaches and come back to a tranquil, peaceful Idaho. Eli has had an amazing time running free and playing with Sunny! We will defiantly return (probably as soon as summer!) and recommend to friends. A very special place with special people, well done for doing what you’ve done!!! The massage deserves special mention! I can honestly say, it’s the best massage I’ve ever had (and I’ve had many!) Totally intuitive, very deep work and much more than a “physical” massage…A healing and de-blocking… Advice to all, make sure you book in, you will not be disappointed!

When I got here it wasn’t how I imagined, it was completely better and I loved the Pizza night, it was great and me and my Mum and Jeff booked a small Tipi but you were really kind and gave a big Tipi, I really like Sunny and Chief. I loved the swimming pool. I hope I can come again soon because I had a great time here in Tipi Algarve, it was amazing, thank you.

Well we chose to come here for a relaxing stay as our honeymoon; to focus on ourselves (of course!) and to cleanse ourselves of stresses and banish any weariness. It’s certainly done the trick. The setting, the Tipi and the Algarve are lovely.
Then there’s the fresh veg, the incredible weather and lovely beaches.
But what really makes this place so special are the warm and helpful people (and the wonderful dogs!). Thanks to Tipi Algarve for making us feel welcome, sharing their local knowledge and forging ahead with Tipi Algarve!

This is a truly magical place to stay. We have felt totally happy, comfortable and safe here and experienced some things that we’ll never forget. The ethos of Tipi Algarve is a pleasure to be part of and I am in admiration of the work that’s gone on in creating this special place. The flowers and plants, vegetables and herbs are not only beautiful but create the most amazing scent in the mornings – I’ve never felt so relaxed and happy to get out of bed.
Thank you for treating us so warmly and making our time here such fun. There’s nothing I could suggest to improve it here. Your beach and restaurant suggestions were spot on.
