We chose our new apartment at Giudecca Mare (built on the site of an old Gondola boat yard) so that we would be able to step away from the hustle & bustle of Venice whilst remaining close to all the sites & atmosphere of the city. Experience the glorious art architecture & historical sites whilst soaking up the ambience that is uniquely Venice. Celebrate a special occasion in true style… or simply enjoy a break in this luxury private apartment. Once inside, the apartment maximises the spectacular views of San Clemente Island. The apartment is equipped with under floor heating throughout & air conditioning which can be used on request. It has marble floors throughout, except the bedroom which has ash wooden boards and security shutters allowing for maximum privacy & security. |

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation |
|
| |
Giudecca is only a short vaporetto ride from San Marco. In the 18th century it was favoured by the Venetian nobles as a summer retreat, known as Venice’s “garden of delights”, some of these gardens still exist today. There were noble residences; ( Palazzo Vendramin, Palazzo Dandolo) and more modest dwellings called “casini”, convents (such as Zitelle and le Convertite), academies (such as the ”Convito dei Nobili” for philosophy), parks, orchards and vineyards. There are many interesting & famous sites on the Giudecca, among which is the 16th Century “Palladio's Church of Redentore”. Nowaday's Giudecca has its own local gems including; the Church of the Redentore, the Cipriani Hotel, Harry's Dolce Restaurant, a wonderful working boat yard and marina & a newly renovated Molino Stucky Hilton Hotel. Rialto Market cannot be underestimated as an exciting place to visit for its atmosphere and vibrancy let alone its food! |

"In the very hot, hot, hot weather we have had lazy breakfasts, lazy lunches, and lazy dinners all out on the terrace. The apartment has been such a pleasure to return to and cool off. The views of the lagoon never ceased to hold our interest."

Thank you for sharing your wonderful apartment with us, it provided a welcome respite from the frenetic activity across the water in San Marco. Our first visit to Venice and also our honeymoon. A dream come true. We can truly see why Venice is such a jewel. We hope to return.

We have visited Venice many times over the past 40 years but this was our first time staying in an apartment. What a wonderful way to enjoy Venice-but only because of the comfort of your home and its magical setting. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful as the boatmen began their day and the city was so quiet. We hope to come back here and thank you for all that your home has to offer.

Nick,
now that we have returned I thought I should drop you a note to thank you for the delicious chocolates that you sent for us.They complimented the reason for our visit perfectly and were much appreciated.I'd also like to say what a lovely place you have out there. The location is great being so close close to the centre yet so quiet and secluded and the views are magnificent. We would both like to stay there again sometime. Thank you for all your help.
