5 miles away from the villa in Umbria, is the old town of Todi, founded by the Umbrians (some cite the date 2700 BC). Situated in ancient times on the border between the Etruscan and Umbrian territories, not far from Rome and Florence, Todi has been defined as the most livable town on earth, the 'ideal town' by research of the University of Kentucky for its size, its climate, its hilltop location and for its harmonious relationship to its surroundings. A striking artistic centre in a magnificent position dominating the Tiber valley, celebrated for its Roman and Etruscan remains, for its palaces, its churches and its atmospheric medieval environment. The town is rich in art galleries, craft-shops (ceramic, carving), antiques dealers and restorers. You can enjoy the world-renowned Umbrian cuisine in traditional restaurants(some of the most famous in Italy)and typical food shops: truffles, wines, olive oils. |

What visitors have said about Villa L'Arco |
| |
| |
My family had the pleasure of stopping at Villa L’Arco in July 2009. I don’t really know how to adequately describe the peace and solitude there. The most noise came from the pump in the pool. Beautiful surroundings - to wake up in the morning and watch the sun clear the mist from the hills and see the start of another beautiful day - magical.
We were only a family of four so the Villa provided us with loads of space to relax and unwind. The Villa is well maintained and laid out and Bruno was always around if we needed any help or advice. Gardens beautifully maintained.
Take advantage of having a meal cooked for you during your stay - that was an added bonus and delicious.
I cannot recommend this Villa highly enough and have recommended it to family and friends - we will certainly be back!!

Villa L’Arco was the perfect tonic after a very busy year working too hard and then helping the children through homework/exams.
A break was needed and this place has come up trumps. We have found ourselves doing very little, just cooling in the pool and absorbing into a series of books.
We have been on a number of trips (here are our recommendations).
- Rome: Day trip, drove to Orte Station (35-45 min. into Rome), used the 110-red buses. Visited the Colosseum, Vatican & Trevi Fountain.
- Lake Trasimeno: parked up at Castiglione del Lago, beautiful lake, a bit muddy underfoot. We went water-skiing found a guy through the Yacht Club - great fun. Only 50 min away.
- Orvieto: worth a visit to see the cathedral alone.
- The pool: however was the biggest hit. So lovely and big even with 9 in it was fabulous. Try and create a whirlpool we found it a lot of fun. The children were in the pool most of the very hot two weeks, a great relief for the older ones.
- Walks/Runs: an early morning run (25 minute round trip) is out of the house - turn left up the hill and keep going - it is relatively flat after a short time - we nicknamed the view “Sunflower Valley” - it is a beautiful sight.
- Rosa’s Evenings: we had two evenings when Rosa cooked for our party of 9 which made those nights very special. Drinks by the pool while Rosa ran around frantically as time in Italy is not exact. She produced two great meals in her happy style - we recommend this to any guests.
The rest of the villa gave us that relaxed holiday we were all looking for - air conditioned rooms, everyone slept really well. Covered outside seating great for meals, but also respite for the sun. The garden for the children to run around in, but then that leads us back to the pool.
In summary - its quiet here, no cars, no building works nearby - we want to live here, Bruno is very lucky to have this place - we have thoroughly enjoyed using it for our “bellissimo” 2 weeks holiday.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Italian villa in the hills of "heart of Italy."
The accommodations were spectacular and the serenity was great. Monina and Bruno Bucci were the perfect hosts. We had the best time and look forward to returning.
The people of Italy were so friendly and the walled cities around Todi were magnificent. If you want a great vacation this is the place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa L'Arco. The villa itself is modern and well-equipped (especially the kitchen), and we particularly enjoyed the swimming pool, table tennis, the BBQ and the beautiful garden. It is in an excellent location, in the heart of the countryside, but near some interesting and historical towns and villages.
I would recommend this villa for a very relaxing holiday.

Two weeks of sunflower glory: starting from one bloom on the first day, the holiday, with the field behind, just grew in beauty. We have so enjoyed such a beautyful house, a gorgeous setting, and our trips - to Todi, Orvieto, Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Montepulciano ... a very special time.
Wi'll remember your kindness + generosity, the tranquility-and chasing balls round+round the pool!
Many thanks for the use & this home full & warmth + life, and for the glorious nodding heads which greeted us each morning.

The house is fantastic
The weather is fine
The pool is a dream
I wish it was mine
The beauty and silence
Of Italy, night and day
It will be a sweet memory
That won't fade away
Old houses and chapels
Real craftmenship, handmade
Our mouths fell right open
And made us stay up late
Thank you, dear Bruno for your hospitality
Perhaps we will meet again
Don't no yet the time of year
You will see my pay check then
