Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
La Fontana is situated in the Amerino county, just on the border between Lazio and Umbria. There are few areas in the world with so many cultural, archaeological and architectural sites of interest. Amelia is the ideal starting point for discovering the delightful countryside without the inconvenience of mass tourism. The town of Amelia is sited on rolling hills, bordered on the north by thick woods and on the south by olive groves and vineyards. The walls originate from the pre-Etruscan period (700 BC) while the town has maintained its medieval plan without significant change in centuries. From the Roman period the most striking vestiges are the ancient cisterns and the statue of Germanico. There are some good restaurants that serve typical Umbrian food. Wine producers are all around and it is fun to go round the local Cantine, while the oil production is the best in Italy.

What visitors have said about La Fontana

We stayed in Pergola, a very sweet cottage, and we will definitively try to come back next year. We enjoyed the company. My husband enjoyed the wi-fi in the garden.

Great break. Relaxing. Spring peach and cherry bloom was at its best.
