What visitors have said about Podere Salicotto |
| |
| |
After returning from a 16 day trip in "Bella Italia" (touring the Tuscany area, Lanciano, Pescara, and Rome), I must say that our stay at the Podere Salicotto was a definite highlight of our trip! As we approached it, perched majestically upon a hilltop overlooking olive groves and rolling farmland, we knew we were in for a special treat. Upon our arrival, Paolo, our host, greeted us with a friendly smile and a tantalizing glass of red wine. Our room was clean and spacious, with all the "touches" of home: queen bed with a fluffy down comforter, heated towel racks, coffee in room and hallelujah . . . no t.v.!!! We truly appreciated the wonderful home-cooked breakfasts every morning (and delicious, freshly made cappucinos), and the fully stocked wine cellar we enjoyed every evening. Paolo and Sylvia were so helpful in organizing a guided wine tour for us (visited 3 different vineyards), as well as an amazing day of sailing on the Mediterranean aboard Paolo's beautiful sailboat.
We stayed at the Podere Salicotto for seven glorious days and would highly recommend it! It has a great central location to explore all of the surrounding towns and sights: Montalcino, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, S. Antimo, etc. After a day of exploring, it was great to come back to "our home" the Podere Salicotto and enjoy a glass of wine beside the warmth of the fireplace. For those nights we didn't care to venture too far, Buonconvento had many great restaurants to offer (especially loved I Poggioli: mussels were outstanding!) and a 10 minute drive takes you to a special castle for a fabulous dinner. Just ask Sylvia & Paolo. . . they're the best!

Salicotti is a Beautiful, homely and magical place set in the heart of Tuscany. We loved every moment there, long walks, magical scenery...coming home was hard!
Silvia and Paulo are fantastic hosts and we felt welcome from the start. Definately a dream holiday in a dream location!

This B&B can not be faulted, it is relaxed, and every amenity works to perfection. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. It is very quiet. The pool is divine and welcome in the rolling hill side after the heat of the day. The swim with a view over the tuscan hills is magical. The breakfast is superb, local olive oils, fresh baked cakes and breads, local cheeses and cappuccinos! and nothing is too much trouble for our hosts Silvie and Paolo. They are welcoming, yet discreet. The rooms are quiet and the air con works a treat. The beds are super comfortable, its the place to go away from the crowd up on the hill yet close enough to sight see your favourite cities in Italy and pop into the old walled town for dinner. We would go back any time, just lovely.
