Montate is a traditional Tuscan farmhouse with chestnut beams and terracotta tiles throughout. All the rooms have been tastefully decorated to create a home-from-home atmosphere, made more so by the films and CDs for guests' use. This villa in Tuscany consists of the main house, a small chestnut roasting house in front (currently being converted into additional living space) and the sundeck beyond the chestnut house which overlooks the pool below. There is also plenty of additional garden space around the house. There is a 400m private drive leading to the house and we have no immediate neighbours, making it an entirely private, secluded location. |

Set in acres of chestnut woods, this secluded villa in Tuscany is the ultimate getaway. At 800 metres above sea level, the mountain views are astounding. Apart from being the ideal place to escape it all, the property is ideally located for the many wonderful attractions that Tuscany has to offer. Pisa and Florence are both within easy reach. The beach at Viareggio is an hour or so away - or for the more adventurous, skiing at Abetone is 90 minutes by car. In the heat of the summer there is always a gentle breeze and at night you can sleep with the windows open because there are no mosquitoes. Nearby Barga, with its shops and restaurants, is a must as well as the wonderful walled city of Lucca, where you can hire a bike and ride around the walls. |

| The nearest airport to the villa in Tuscany is Pisa and the house is an easy 90 minute drive via Lucca. Barga is a lovely 40 minute drive from Lucca up the Serchio valley and the house is a further 15 minutes from Barga. |

Montate has two eating areas al fresco, both with astonishing views of the Apuan Alps and the Serchio valley. There is also a covered deck area with comfortable seating for the ultimate in post-lunch siestas.

Conditions of Rental |
May to September, Saturday to Saturday. We will send you a booking form via email and ask for a deposit for your booking of the villa in Tuscany. Once your booking is confirmed we will send you information on Montate including detailed directions. Further house and local information including maps, walking routes and recommended outings are at the house.
