General Info |
|
| |
There are 3 apartments for rental, full of rustic charm, and simply furnished in traditional style. The villas, converted from the original farmhouse and steading, are situated round a shared pool and there are sun-loungers and gazebos aplenty for shade and sunshine alike. The vineyard is situated in the Val Di Chiana area near Arezzo and the villas make the perfect base to explore the delights of Tuscany and Umbria. The Italian family who own the vineyard are justifiably proud of their wines which are made, on-site, in the Cantina. As a guest you will be provided with wine from the vineyard (it isn’t for sale so make the most of it while you’re here!) and you will also be given olive oil pressed from their own olives as well as herbs from the garden. |

What visitors have said about Malfiano |
| |
| |
We have stayed at Malfiano many times over the last eight years and will be back again this August. The Property is owned by the Lucarelli family who are an absolute delight, so kind and caring. Their wine, olive oil and produce are waiting for your arrival in the Gite of your choice and yes the Chianti keeps coming during your stay!!! The position of the properties, vineyards and olive groves is truly amazing, fabulous views towards Arezzo
and the Val Di Chiana. You will need a car to get about to shop and find the extremely good local restaurants. Malfiano is about a mile and a half from the historic village of Civitella and five miles from supermarkets. This is a very special place to relax peacefully by the lovely pool or private gardens far from the madding crowd. A real find, full of old world rustic charm. (not in the least bit modern).

We have been to Malfiano four times over the past 5 years. It is a magical place if you want peace and tranquilly and the experience of living on a working vineyard. The accommodation is basic and rustic, but comfortable; which means that you don’t have to worry about it and can focus your energy on relaxing by the lovely pool or simply sitting in the Tuscan sunshine. It is an ideal escape from the world but a car is essential to visit the supermarket (20 minutes drive into Arezzo) or easy day trips to Siena, Florence, Cortona, San Sepulcro. There are numerous charming villages all around and the people are very friendly and hospitable. The food and wine generally are excellent and Beppe (your host) provides you with ample amounts of his own wine free of charge to help you relax and enjoy yourself. There is also a games room within one of the farm buildings and this provides respite from the searing heat and has plenty to keep the family occupied. What makes Malfiano a unique destination is the warm welcome and being part of the Italian family and way of life.

I just love to sit on the balcony (casa Elena) in the warm sunshine and watch the view. It is wonderful.
