The house is only 14km from Pontremoli and 30km from the sea, so it provides the perfect, peaceful base for lots of day trips. And this area of Italy around Lunigiana has plenty to offer. The Appenine Mountains and the Apuan Alps are both not only beautifully scenic but are also ideal for hiking. If you’d rather spend time on fine sandy beaches then visit the seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi, or sample the delights of Viareggio, a colourful and vibrant seaside destination. The hamlet of Tellaro and the village of Montemarcello are charming and historic places, full of Roman remains, not to mention the spectacular views of the Ligurian coast. For a truly therapeutic experience, the village of Equi Terme is a must-visit, with its thermal baths and its tunnels full of stalagmites and stalactites. |

Getting There:
| The nearest airports are the ‘Cristoforo Colombo’ in Genoa and the ‘Galileo Galilei’ in Pisa. By car, take the A15 Motorway and take the exit for Pontremoli.
Turn right in the direction of Pontremoli and follow the Provincial road for about 800 metres. Turn right in the direction of Filattiera, cross the bridge on the Magra river, turn right again and about 400 metres after that take the turning on your left towards Rottigliana. After 200 metres turn left in the direction of Vaia-Calizzana, then 200 metres later turn into the first road that you find on your left.

The house has one double bedroom but it also has 2 extra beds in the living room, which means it can comfortably sleep 4 or 5 people. It has a huge living space for chilling out in and the house is also furnished with a good bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. Its size and location make it ideal for a group of 4/5 people, or for a family holiday. Children will love it!

Outside the house there is a large private garden with a barbecue and plentiful outdoor dining facilities. A river is reachable through a forest path, which provides gorgeous swimming opportunities in the summer months – there is nothing more refreshing and invigorating! There is nature all around and waterfalls and mountain lakes (including Lago Verde) are all within walking distance of the house. There is even a fishing area and plentiful bird-watching opportunities. La Ceresola is a perfect holiday destination for people who love fresh air, trekking and wild outdoor life.

We also have a farmhouse and apartments available to rent (on another site). The family run farm is situated amidst oaks and chestnuts in northern Tuscany. Mountains and sea are both easy accessible. The farm is made up of a group of finely restored houses, and each apartment can house between 2 and 6 people. It’s an ideal spot to relax, yet not far from the sea and the Cinque Terre, as well as numerous cities of art. On the farm is a swimming pool and mountain bikes, and in the vicinity you can horse ride, play tennis or go fishing on the Magra River.
